“Good hotel value for families but lacking in amenities.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2011

We stayed at the Grand Chateau for three nights as a group of four adults and two kids. We chose this property because of the price and also because of the two bedroom units. We found that there are simply very few options in this price range if you want to guarantee two connecting or adjoining rooms.

All things considered, the location is convenient. It's across the street from the Planet Hollywood mall, and a 10 minute walk to the Bellagio fountains and the new City Center complex. It's pretty good considering Las Vegas blocks are massive, and it can take 10 minutes to get out of some other massive resorts.

We got a two bedroom, two bath room. The room itself was nice, clean, and decently sized, but not luxurious. The room had a full kitchen plus a kitchenette in one of the bedrooms. A typical timeshare "lock-out" layout. The master bedroom had a separate double-showerhead shower, and a deep soaking bath for two *in the sleeping quarters*. Yes, there is a bathtub & a sink next to the bed. There was also in general too much furniture in the rooms, making the place feel much smaller than it really was. With six people total, we felt that we were always bumping into furniture.

In terms of hotel amenities, the little convenience store next to the lobby was useful. The prices weren't outrageous, and it filled the basic needs for drinks and stuff. You should still go to the supermarket to stock up, but it's nice to not have to go out. The valet parking was also quicker and more reliable than I had expected. Beat walking a long way to fetch the car, especially in the desert heat.

Two downsides. There is no restaurant in the premises, so you either had to make something, go out, or get takeout. I wished that it had at least a little cafe or something for when I felt particularly lazy. Then there is the TINY rooftop pool. Considering that this hotel probably targets families rather than partying 20-somethings, this is a big detriment. There were probably 10 people (mostly kids) in it when we were there, and it felt crowded. And it's 3.5 feet deep all the way around, so not the best pool for little kids.

Finally, if you haven't read elsewhere, there is no casino here. I personally think that is a good thing, because it's nice to get away from that.

All-in-all, I'll stay here again if I'm traveling with a large family or group. Just don't expect it to be Vegas party central.

Room Tip: Ask to be away from floors being renovated.

This was the last stop in our five weekly timeshares in the last three months. This was the last and overall the best. The location just off the strip and near the new City Center and other other big resorts was perfect. We had a 31st floor room with a great view of the city. The room itself was very nicely appointed with the tile floor, tile shower and granite counter tops along with the big soaking tub. It had everything we needed. This was the first place we stayed that had BluRay players and there were two of them for each of the flat screen TVs. I think the living room one was at least 47 inches. There were also lots of free movie channels like HBO and Starz. It was also nice to have free internet access and a washer and dryer both in the room and a common set on the floor for free use. We rarely saw anyone on our floor and never heard anyone. It was nice having the security on the elevators so you could not get to your floor without your magnetic room key. But it did allow going to any floor. A couple of small negatives were the small pool and pool area on the roof with no shade. The other issue was the valet parking. It was a inconvenience having to get the car through the valet but it was free. We did use the free shuttle service to the grocery store. You can also use the Las Vegas bus system and avoid the bad traffic on the strip. I expected to have to pay for some of these “extras” from our last experience staying at a hotel type property in Canada. It was a Delta timeshare property and they charged $15.00 per day for parking, $8.00 per day for the internet, the common use washer dryers were a charge and it did not have DVD or CD players nor more than one HBO channel. They did have pay per view movies. So getting that stuff all free at this Marriott was a surprise.

I enjoyed a comfortable one bedroom suite for 3 nights. This property is just a block from the middle of all the action on the strip but, provides a cool, quiet home when you need to rest. Parking is all valet and complimentary, and the crew on the graveyard shift is particularly hospitable to weary residents returning home late or leaving early. I loved the newly remodeled unit on floor 34. Everything is so clean and fresh. This is a non-smoking property; much appreciated after the casino environment. Can't wait to visit again. Hope it is soon.

A family trip to Vegas to see some shows and the unique atmosphere of Las Vegas. As we had teenagers, and we are all non-smoking, I was looking for more of a family type of hotel. This proved to be a good choice. Also it doesn't have a casino attached, which was good as we didn't have to deal with all the people who would be there. It is a hotel, not hotel and casino.

The location is good - walk through Miracle Mile shops and come out facing the Bellagio. A great way to start your trip is to see the Bellagio fountains the night you arrive. It is pretty central so you can walk down to Mandalay Bay or up to Venetian. We did both but also got taxis at other times as it is very warm.

We had a 2 bedroom villa, good value, clean, well maintained. The roof top pool was also good for sunbathing.

We managed to see O, Penn & Teller, the aquarium and Grand Canyon. A good place to base yourself.

Stayed here for a week in June 2011 with my family. We had a 3 bedroom. The hotel itself was great, very very clean, quiet, good location by Planet Hollywood and helpful staff. The only 2 downsides are as everyone has stated, the tiny pool and the valet parking. The pool is not just small, its basically not useable. The temps were over 110 when we were there so the pool would have been great to use but it was just not of any use. Marriott should be ashamed of themselves for not having a suitable pool here. I don't care that they have plans to build one someday, I care about now and this was just not acceptable. The valet parking was a smaller issue but still one that bothered me. I hate not being able to park my own car, and having to wait every time I want to go somewhere. I would rather pay to self park then have to valet every time. Other than those two issues, this is a first class facility. So if the pool is not important to you, then this is the place for you.

The Marriott Grand Chateau was a very nice timeshare property. The rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated. It was close to everything-just a few steps away from Planet Hollywood and very closeby to the Bellagio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We mentioned it was my friend's birthday when we checked in and they sent up a birthday card and some chocolates.
We had a great time and would definitely stay at this property again!

Booked this location for a small family reunion and it was everything we had hoped for. There were four women in a one-bedroom condo and we had plenty of room. The location off the strip was perfect because it was quiet, and the fact that it was a non-smoking and no casino resort made it much more pleasant. The pool on the roof is very small so those with small children would probably find it inadequate, but we just went to the roof to lay in the sun and read. Customer service was outstanding - check in, valet, bell service, maintenance, etc. The best I've ever experienced. If we called and needed something, they were there in a few minutes and we received a follow up call shortly thereafter to make sure we had been taken care of. There is no restaurant on site but that wasn't a problem because we had a full kitchen and fixed much of our own food. Would definitely stay here again when in Las Vegas.
