Casino is small and outdated but go for the food. I do throw some money in the video poker while waiting for my table and have won some money on occasion.

6.95 Steak dinner !! This is buy far the best deal in Vegas..

$6.95 steak dinner isnt on the menu. You simply ask the server for it ! You get a Beer or root beer if you choose, Salad, Potato, Veggie and a 10 once Sirloin Filet. Not to be confused with a tenderloin filet.. Its awsome price for the quality you get.. I never order anything else. You will have to wait a little bit but everytime they told me 30 mins for a table i had one within 15 or 20 min.. Go during off hours if you dont like waiting.. You wont be dissapointed unless your completely unrealistic and a cronic complainer whos never sastified , however as compaired to many "steakhouses" this is better then what their serving for 25 bucks.. I do not like their brewed beer so i opt for a coke. And since your stealing the food its always nice to give the workers a few extra bucks additional to your normal tip in my opnion if your doing the 6.95 steak dinner. I suggest when you get your bill for 14 bucks you give the rest to your server if not a buck or 2 more. These people work hard put up with a lot of cheap skates so its nice to give um a better tip

Based on other reviews we tried Ellis Island for their steak dinner for $6.99. It was worth the walk. It was a good size steak, vegetable, soup or salad, potatoe and their micro brew. It was all very good. No complaints.

My husband and I (both 30) went to Vegas for a long weekend and actually stayed at Bally's. He had been doing some checking around online and came across Ellis Island and thought we should give it a try since it is right behind Bally's.

We checked into the hotel at midnight and went over to EI for some drinks and something to eat and ended up going back several times during our trip. There are 2 restaurants inside, one being a diner type and also a barbeque that is open from 4-10. We ate at the diner twice while there and both times my husband got the $6 steak special (which comes with a house draft beer) and I got a breakfast. Our bill was just $12. We also ate at the BBQ and that was also very good. There is also a wood-fired pizza place that looked and smelled great but we never tried.

The place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall and yes there are locals there, but we really liked the kind of laid back atmosphere that it offered. The staff was very friendly, cocktail waitresses did make the rounds, and drinks and food were cheap ($1.50 for a 23 oz house draft and $3 strong mixed drinks--not tiny cups either!). Neither one of us had any problems when trying to order from the bar. We also read some reviews that said that you should not walk there at night. I'm not quite sure what those are all about. We walked there everytime, almost always at night, and never saw any sort of trouble. The street was well-lit and there were plenty of others out walking as well. If you want to get away from all the congestion of the bigger resorts, and want to just slow it down a bit, then I definitely recommend Ellis Island.

We were introduced to this great place a few years ago by friends who live in Vegas.
We were staying at the Tuscany Suites, just around the block, for a large convention Labour Day weekend.
We ate breakfast here every morning, as well as 1 lunch and 1 dinner, during our 5 day stay.
The $4.95 steak & eggs, $6.95 steak dinner, and the Barbeque Ribs & Chicken platter were our faves !
We always brought friends from the convention with us and they all loved it as well!
I would call the retro decor ... 1970''s Vegas Shabby Chic ! LOL !
The prices, food quality , and service were all excellent !
We will be back !

This was smaller than I had imagined it would be.We ate here at the portions were big, the $2 beer was ok too. Not really sure if I would reccomend that people go here or not, its off the strip and seems to be where the locals go. You can also place low bets here, seemed a nice friendly place though not somewhere I would go again.
