My friend and I visited the Voodoo Lounge last October on a Tuesday. We bought Open Bar passes in advance through the visitlasvegas site. When we got to the entrance at the bottom of the club about 11/11:3o, the guy wasn't particularly friendly. He only had one pass there for us and had to send a guy off to get another one and there was no apology for the hold-up, he just asked us to move out the way whilst we waited! There was no queue to get in at all, which was fantastic, although a real surprise!!
We walked in after getting the second wrist band and a glass lift takes you up to the club itself. It was really cool going up and the views were great - even lower down the building!
We walked in and got served really quickly. The bar staff were friendly. The club was not busy, but there were enough people for there to be an atmosphere. Outside the views really were breathtaking, although the VIP seating for table service is around the edge, so you cannot get THAT close - still, it didn't obscure the view too much at all - afterall, the people had paid to be sat down!! Lol. Inside there were a few people and plenty of seating, so that was really nice after being stood up for a while!! As for the music - it was very good from what I remember, but I don't remember ever being compelled to dance - but this is a very sociable place and more about mixing than dancing on your own and ignoring everyone around you.
We had a great night and within minutes of being there, we were approached by a group of really friendly Canadian guys who were on a 'divorce party'' week and spent the rest of the evening chatting to them - the time went so quick!!
Time flew by, and we were gutted when it closed at about 1:00/1:30am. We were all ready to party the night away! A group of about 10 of us all left together and ended up all chatting down in the casino for at least an hour, all of us were rather drunk. The plan was, was that we were all going to get a limo to somewhere else together, but we got too involved chatting and it never really came about!! It was so nice to meet people from all different parts of the world! We were advised that Palms was a good place to go afterwards, but after a 'shot' of Witchdoctor that the barman let me try for free (The famous Witchdoctor wasn't included in the Open Bar, obviously!!) I was a complete mess - it did not mix well with vodka, which is what I had stuck to all night!! If you have this cocktail, probably better to start off with it and gauge see how you are!!
So, all in all, a fantastic and very memorable night out. Only very small downers were the confusion getting in and the fact it seemed to close too early!
