Stayed in Encore because my friends room was comped and them we split the cost of mine,,,,check in was a breeze, not crowded took only five minutes...and the room! Wow really really nice, it's not a real suite more of large room with nice sitting area but very well furnished an d appointed , no complaints at all...service in hotel was fine, only problem is the restaurants for breakfast are WAY EXPENSIVE, again good quality and good service, you get what you pay for so if you have funds it's a great place to stay. Te location is the most northern part of the main strip so it's a taxi ride to many places unless you like walking depends on the time of year I guess....I was there in autumn so didn't experience the pool area which I hear is fantastic

My first trip to Las Vegas I stayed at the Wynn. The basic rooms are as nice as you could want. The rooms are large, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms are enormous and top of the line. The views from the rooms on either side of the building cannot be topped. One side overlooks the golf course and the mountains. The other side has an amazing view of the strip.

The pool and casino at the Wynn are to die for. There are cabanas at the pool one can rent for the day. The pool is huge and luxurious. The pool side bars are relaxing and serve delicious cocktails. The casino is fun - complete with various very cool restaurants. The club in the casino is fun all night long.

The walk to Encore is short from the Wynn also. The hotels are similar but there are different things to do at each and the variety is fun. The next time I go to Vegas I would LOVE to stay at the Wynn.

Room Tip: Either side has incredible views. You can request a view of the strip or of the mountains!

We booked a room in the tower suites section in order to get pampered a little more during the holidays.

The downturn was more the staff and the facilities. The hotel was sold out and you could not fail to notice that the hotel was running at it's limits. Most restaurants were not able to get you a table right away. It would make sense to make a reservation for the restaurants then. Unfortunately reservations were not possible to make for the casual restaurants (casual = 100 USD for two at dinner time (no alcohol). So we had to wait for an hour or even once for 1 1/2 hours to get a table. The staff in these places were very unfriendly. Not sure if stress was the reason. So it took definitely the sparkle out of this 5 star hotel.

Breakfast was included in the tower suits rooms at a La Tableu. After two days we wanted to try something different than the egg and bacon. The staff regretted that it was only possible to take the standard breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast and pastries). As this is an a la carte restaurant there were different choices. The included breakfast was the most expensive one (28 USD), so we thought we could order the pancakes one day which are ( 17 USD). Unfortunately the staff (inclusive the manager of the restaurant) could not be flexible in this point. So although the breakfast was inclusive, the pancakes were charged. This just increased the feeling that this hotel is only trying to make the big bucks from their guests. Even an espresso was charged additionally. The manager of the restaurant promised us to get us lactaid for the second day. When we returned to the breakfast room (Tableu) they did not know anything about the promise. After a complaint they managed to organise the milk on the third day.

Another downturn were most of the reception staff. Almost no smiles! Something you could expect if you are paying 370 USD a night.

The room itself was really nice, spacious and clean.

The hotel was great and lots of food options. The smell of smoke was way to much for me but it only stunk when passing on the bottom floor. The pool was open and warm in December. The fitness center was wonderful. Room service was also great.

Room Tip: Any room would be great.

Both the Wynn and Encore are beautiful facilities. The spas are the absolute best, and worth the cost. You won't get a bad meal in any restaurant. What you are likely to run across, however, are employees who shouldn't be working with the public. Not the norm, but you'll meet them during every stay -- probably two encounters per short stay. We've stayed at the Wynn and Encore 8 times in recent years -- and while the facilities are definitely top shelf, we won't return -- because of the staff members who need remedial customer service training.

Wynn and Encore are a notch above all else in Vegas. Our favorite is still Wynn's. Larger rooms, better views and an altogether more soothing decor, as well as better restaurants and a better poker room, give the older hotel an edge, although Encore can claim the better Spa.
If you really want the best hotel to stay in Vegas, you cannot go wrong with either of these.

Every December we go to Las Vegas. Some of the Casino/Hotels have wonderful Christmas Decorations which is our reason for going that time of the Year. The Wynn is one of the best Hotels in Las Vegas. Our room was beautiful with a wonderful view of the Las Vegas Strip. From automatic drapes and shears to the ambient lighting, everything at the Wynn is first class.
And of course their Christmas Decorations throughout the hotel/casino are first rate.

Room Tip: A Las Vegas Strip View for the Lights at Night or a Golf Course View for all the Greenery.
