“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

I went to Vegas for a Conference and l have stayed at this property when it was THE HOTEL. It has been refitted to the Delano. It was great before, it is even better now. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the suites are extremely clean and look great.

Sophisticated, neat, elegant, artistic, the most pleasant experience you can imagine in a hotel!
The rooms are large, suites have a separate living room and 2 bathrooms, plasma Tv's everywhere, comfy bed, lots of storage and closet space.

I usually stay at Mandalay Bay in Vegas but this time I got an upgrade offer for the Delano and I took it. I'm glad I did.

The place used to be "The hotel" and its place in the Mandalay Bay scheme was never quite clear. The Four Seasons was the snooty high end part of the property, Mandalay Bay Hotel was for the general not-so-snooty public. "The hotel" was, what? Well, mainly, easy to ignore.

The Delano would have fit that niche also except for the last-minute upgrade. While I always liked the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Delano was a near perfect experience. The vibe is young, zen and edgy-cool. It doesn't feel like a Las Vegas property. It's a peaceful oasis within the sprawling Mandalay Bay complex.

The public areas are austere, subdued spaces with interesting art installations. My standard king room was a true suite with a sitting area with its own bathroom in one room and the bedroom in the other. The decor was modern with a palette of whites and grays. Each room had its own flat screen, and there was a third in the large bathroom. The desk was equipped with multiple USB ports and electrical outlets so everything got recharged. The bedroom had a safe.

The room was spotlessly clean and smelled terrific. The bed was one of the best hotel beds I've ever used. The room was very quiet at night and I heard nothing from the Mix nightclub that some commenters here complained about. (I was on the 16th floor.)

The large bathroom has a deep tub and separate shower. Bathrobes and slippers are supplied. One quibble I had is that the water pressure in the shower was too low.

The minibar has a wide selection of stuff at the expected ridiculous prices. If you want to drink, bring your own booze up to the room. Even the Keurig K-cup runs $4 but fortunately there's a Starbucks downstairs just off of the casino.

The entire staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. I honestly can think of almost nothing negative to say about except that the prices for the stuff in the room. Also, resort fees ($28 a night here) are always a little irritating. Why don't they just add them to the room rates instead of adding them on as an extra charge?

Over the years I've used many hotels in Vegas including Mandalay Bay, Palazzo, Venetian, Treasure Island, Tropicana, Mirage, Harrahs, Caesars, Flamingo, Riveria and a couple downtown. The Delano is definitely my new favorite.

Stayed here on a drive through Vegas with my sister and her family. We got a suite which was divine! The views were great and we were well above the noise of the streets bellow. The hallways were quiet throughout out stay and it was a great place to fall back to in between executions into the strip! All the staff were very attentive and helpful!

I'm a local, and was surprised by my husband with a staycation for my birthday. I had stayed at this hotel in the past when it was called The Hotel at the Mandalay Bay. It was extremely nice, including the décor. Now it looks weird. I've been to South Beach several times and this hotel didn't remind me of anything similar. The hallway and the room were so different, I thought were at another hotel. The all white décor was pretty boring. The bed was comfortable and I loved the bath tub!!! The room overall was about a 4/5. The statues in the lobby were weird. The thing I disliked (and I'm sure others love) is it's a pet friendly hotel. I don't care for pets, especially big dogs. There should be a size/weight limit. They were everywhere. Then what irritated me the most may not bother others but..............I called guest services a few times and they always asked my name. It should pop up on the telephone and you should be answering the phone greeting me by my name. My husband thought it was funny, but said with the price they charge everybody should be addressing us by name. Although, it was a staycation we probably won't stay again or recommend to out of town friends. We ate breakfast at the buffet which I will comment on in a different review.

Highly recommend this hotel. Newly remodeled and very clean. Has a little bit of everything you would want in an upscale but down to earth way, The housekeeping staff on our floor was the best I have come across in a long time. From check in to check out "You" are treated like royalty!!!!

The former THEhotel at Mandalay Bay is now the Delano. The Delano is beautiful, the staff friendly, and the accommodations sleek, super comfortable and larger than the norm. Would definitely recommend to others.
