“Nice hotel without gaming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

We recently stayed at the Renaissance, Las Vegas. The hotel was nice, off the strip two blocks, but accessible to the monorail. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. The pool wasn't too great as it felt like we were in a glass enclosure where hotel conference room attendees could gawk when they were on breaks from their meetings. I have to say that the hotel security was very nice to me when I left something in my room after departure. They looked for it and checked their database, which was very helpful. Thank you to the hotel security! Overall a good place to stay if you don't want gaming.

Room Tip: Stay at one of the upper floors facing the Wynn golf course for a spectacular view.

I had no idea this place was so nice. It was Memorial Day Weekend and I needed a place but everything was booked and super expensive on the strip, so I chose here. First of all the daily rate is really reasonable, they don't gouge you like the casinos on the strip that tack on a "daily resort fee" so you get the rate you book at. The staff is very accommodating and the breakfast we ordered for room service was outstanding. It's a nice, quiet and relaxing option, as you're not inside one of the big casinos. The bedroom was a great size for the price--big room with couch and big comfortable bed, also a little kitchen and a nice bath with tub and shower separate. They have a decent pool area, if you want to lay out and relax and not be at a big drunken pool party. The location is off strip but with the monorail so close, you just hop on and you're at the middle of the strip in 2 stops. It's super convenient and a real easy way to travel to the strip, and back. $5/person single ride or you can get longer day and weekend passes too. It's GREAT especially when you don't want to walk much in the heat of the summer! All in all, a great stay! Would do it again, and if you don't want the smoke-filled, loud casinos, this place is great...you can experience Vegas and come back to a little oasis of peace and quiet.

Green Features: Nice that they had the "hang the towels" option for re-use to cut down on washing towels daily and wasting water.

We only had one night stay but wish we had longer here! Lovely hotel, beautiful rooms and very friendly staff! We had spent the day travelling, had a very quick check in and order room service, food was really good! Very posh toiletries, nice quiet location with easy access to the monorail!

I was pleasantly surprised that The Renaissance Las Vegas is an entirely non-smoking and non-casino hotel. Most travelers may not want that in a Vegas hotel but for me, it was perfect.

The hotel is modern and the staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby is small but contemporary and there is an on-site restaurant and large bar that served good food and drinks. Free wifi is available on most of the ground floor.

The room was stylish, quiet, and relaxing with all of the amenities that one would expect at a Renaissance property. There is an outdoor pool which is on the small side and oddly placed in between the hotel walls that make a pseudo courtyard. There are a few cozy and plush seating areas against the walls with some tables and lounge chairs around the rest of the pool. By 2pm, the pool area was completely shaded - this could be good to avoid sunburns and the intense desert heat but to feel the sun on your skin, go in the morning.

I stayed here while attending a convention at the Convention Center which was an easy and quick walk from the hotel. Parking was convenient in the garage adjacent to the hotel.

To venture onto the Strip which is where most of the restaurants are, it was a quick drive or about a $10-$15 taxi ride. The hotel is also within walking distance of the monorail which makes many stops along the Strip.

I would recommend this property for a quiet Vegas getaway or business trip.

We love to read reviews such as yours! We agree that the non-smoking, non-gaming environment is a welcome change in Las Vegas. The best compliment we could receive though is that our staff is friendly and helpful. The team strives to provide excellent service to our guests and wants to be their home away from home. We are happy to know that you appreciated our modern design and our dining options. We hope to welcome you back next time your travels bring you to Las Vegas!

Nice property, convenient to convention center, a decent bar, and friendly folks that look out for you. It's close to the monorail stop for a trip to the Strip, though a cab ride is easier. The doormen will even try to make sure you don't get gouged by a cab from the airport; check with them on the fare before paying it. And no casino means a quieter night.

I have stayed at the Renaissance Las Vegas for an annual convention since this hotel opened. Proximity to the Las Vegas convention center is superior; the hotel is Marriott and has no casino, no smoking both pluses in my book. The restaurant is also quite good featuring a terrific wine collection.

BUT...this year Marriott cancelled my reservation stating my Amex was no good, I immediately all Amex security and found Marriott systems had not even "pinged" = tested my card. Call back to Marriott and told "too late" the hotel is sold out. Back to Amex concierge who confirmed room availability, Amex worked with Marriott reservations and magic reservation made and confirmed.

The hotel is really a good business class establishment. Reservations folks working in call center not helpful.

Room Tip: request 'strip view' if you want the Vegas skyline
