We went to the Emperor’s Garden to celebrate a birthday, which happens to be during the Chinese New Year’s period. They had lion dancers, but unfortunately for us, not on the night we were there. Among the dishes we ordered were the hot & sour soup, combo chow mein, combo fried rice, three kingdom beef, Kung Pao Three Delicacies (with pine nuts rather than peanuts), and sweet & sour pork. It was all very good, and though it seemed like a lot of food for five, it was almost all eaten. There was just enough for one lunch to take home. They were serving a large party in another room, but there were a lot of open tables in the main dining room, but it seemed they hadn’t geared up for the larger parties because our service was very slow. The waiter even forgot to bring one of the dishes we ordered. Fortunately, we weren’t in a hurry and very much enjoyed all of the dishes that were served. Dinner was about $14/pp.
