“Setting, Service, and Cuisine”

We felt as if we were the only ones in the dining room although it was full. We could see the Bellagio fountain show from our table. And words fail me about the cuisine.

“Special - very special!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

The food was excellent, the service really wonderful. For instance, we appreciated that two servers were on hand so that all four people at our table were served at precisely the same time. The ambience could not be better - eleven works by Picasso on the walls in the midst of a beautiful dining room. And outside the windows, the beautiful Bellagio fountains. It was lovely to be able to read about the paintings in a nicely constructed album made available to us. But be aware that dinner choices, though no doubt all excellent, are not broad, and there is no a la carte menu. When we asked for one, it was explained that the one on the right hand side of the menu was more "a la carte" than the one on the left, as it had more choices for each course (two). The offerings did not appeal at first glance - e.g. oysters, foie gras, roast pigeon and fallow deer - so we decided on the prix fixe (at $125 each) of lobster salad, scallop (yes, singular - this is definitely about quality and not quantity, although the meal in total was quite satisfying), and the choice of turbot or lamb. The wine that we chose, though pricey by our usual standards, was memorable, and research showed it was only $6 higher in price than in the shops. This was a special birthday occasion, and it will always be remembered as a magical evening. Well, it has to be - we couldn't afford to repeat it very often!

“Great food, service could be improved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Fantastic food and experience. We had the tasting menu and wine parings and were not disappointed. Extremely knowledgeable sommelier. However, the service was overly attentive - there was not enough time between each course (in fact a few minutes at most) and the staff hovered over you while you were eating and even cleared my husband's plate away while I was still eating and had half my food left on the plate. This isn't what you expect when you're paying those prices and we would have liked to have been able to savour the experience at a slightly more relaxed pace. Just felt slightly rushed.

“You must go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

Picasso is a restaurant where great ambience meets fantastic food. On top of that, you have direct views to the Bellagio fountains, so what else could you possibly want? Simply fantastic. One of those places that you will remember and for sure, you will recommend to friends.

“Good food and came on time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

We were booked in to see O at 7:30 so had a reservation at the Picasso for 17:30. We opted for the tasting menu with wine and were thrilled by the experience. We kicked off with a lovely salad with lobster, followed by delicious scallops that were sweet and not over cooked. My highlight was the pan fried foie gras, which was the next course, as it was a perfect portion size and was very juicy. For mains we both had rare lamb and this was cooked perfectly. We didn't feel rushed by the staff and the sommelier's ( there seemed to be around four!) had real depth of knowledge and could really explain the suitability of the wine choices. We also had access to the patio for some spectacular strip photos and had a perfect seat to watch the fountains. A perfect night.
