This place offers average motel style accommodations. I was in Vegas for business and decided to stay here as opposed to a casino resort. Upon entering the parking lot the area was somewhat littered with papers, bottles and such. The location I am sure had something to do with this as it's located right next to the freeway. However some say it is far from the strip...hey, in Vegas just get a car and your all set. The location to the Strip is fine. However the neighborhood is not a good one and take caution to be careful getting out of your car at night and do not walk in the area.
Upon checking in I was not made to feel overly welcome. Maybe the guy had a bad day or whatever, but when I check into a place I expect a certain amount of friendliness and welcoming, especially because I had never stayed here before either. No Hospitality here!
I was give a key to my room and told where the elevator was and that was it. As I keyed my way into my room the first think I saw was cloths hanging in the entrance way. Then I heard someone say "Who's their"? Obviously they gave me a key to someone else's room. I am not sure if this is on purpose as they say the place is "frisky" but I found this embarrassing and annoying! Back to the Front desk with all my bags the attitude could not be more casual. No apology, the employee said "well, was he cute"? I did not find this funny at all. I finally got into MY room and found it comfortable. The furnishings are modern, but cheep. The room was clean and that is a big thing in my requirements. Refrigerator yes, but no microwave, a requirement in my book today for all rooms. The bathroom tub had mold around the tile and the faucet dripped constantly. The towels were like sandpaper. Basic and cheep. The 24/7 porno channels are ok, if your into young kids!
The common areas did seem nice and well maintained. The pool area at 7 PM was littered with dirty towels, ashtrays full of butts and overflowing trash cans! Not exactly the "resort" picture I had in mind. The place offers a steam room. It's nothing special, In fact the one at my local gym is 100% better and I bet cleaner! Again, dirty towels all over in the steam room.
They advertised a gym. I found the gym. An old weight machine that has not been used in years and most likely is used as more of a prop in an adult movie than anything. False advertising. I went to Gold's.
There is a nasty TV room. (That is the only way I can describe this). I mean come on! A tubed TV on the wall with some bench seats around. No class at all. At least make it a bit more tasteful. This room itself brings down the entire place to the level of a bathhouse.
For breakfast I was afforded muffins in plastic bought from Sam's Club or some bagels in a tall glass jar, which you could not get out of unless you turned it upside down. Coffee with no milk. How nice! How about some yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh breads etc.... Come one guys... you're supposed to be catering to gay folks.... the folks with money to spend for things like this and to be honest, we expect things like this too. I don't go to a gay resort and expect to get a muffin in a plastic bag!
Upon check out the next day there was no thank you or inquiry as to what were my thoughts. It was simply good-bye. In my eyes the owners are running this for quick money and not as a true resort, but as a day visit place for local guys and that is exactly what I came to find out. They sell day passes to locals and in the end, it's not a place I would described as a resort. It's a motel/Gay Mans Day Spa/Bathouse. I think there is much potential here but they are not looking at details. I will spend the extra $10.00 and stay at a casino resort and get free breakfast next time. It's really a shame as with just a little more effort, gay business guys would stay here as opposed to a traditional place.
