“Not to be missed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

Long range view of the Strip and Red Rocks -- seen in the early morning hours, which is the best time for photography. So peaceful and quiet. As a bonus, they give you champagne and cheese after the flight -- after the French tradition. The pilot is very personable and informative.

Thanks for the review, and for flying with Vegas Balloon Rides. It is very peaceful in the early morning, and the conditions for flying are optimal at this time of day. The views are spectacular. It is amazing how quiet and serene it is when floating above all the hustle and bustle that is going on below. It gives a whole new meaing to birds eye view. The champagne and appetizers after the flight is an added bonus that is very popular with our guests. It give them a chance to take about the thrilling experience eveyone just shared while "walking the winds". Once again, thanks for the review and for flying with Vegas Balloon Rides.

“Bird's Eye view of Las Vegas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

I've always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride. Finally got to! Our tour operators were phenomenal. They went our of their way to make everything perfect for the guests on the trip. The skys were crystal clear. The moutains were shades of red and orange. Our operators were conscious of safety, and made sure everything was in line and safe for the flight. They took time to answer our questions, and added a bit of humor. The winds were low, so we didn't go far at first, but they finally picked up near the end, so we were able to make a cool low flying pass over a residential area as we came in for a landing!

We purchased this deal thru Groupon & had a great, if too short, ride. Our concern was whether the wind conditions would force cancellation, so we scheduled our ride so that if our original date was cancelled, we still had 4 more days to hope to make it. As luck would have it, our date was a go (Oct. 30)...there was a slight delay in being transported to the lift-off site --waiting to see what the winds were doing.
Prepping the balloon for lift-off & landing is a crew AND participant event -- laying tarps, unrolling the canopy (?), holding it to fill it & on landing, again laying tarps, deflating the balloon & rolling it up - so be prepared to not just stand & watch!
The ride itself was about an hour - very peaceful & quiet, except for when the propane is used to keep the canopy at the proper height.
This wasn't on our 'bucket list', just something we thought we be fun to do & we enjoyed it.

“Don't give your money away to this business!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

This was our first trip to Vegas, we had planned it for many months. All of our activities were scheduled and paid for in advance. I'm sure you've heard the saying, "The best laid plans"? This Hot Air Balloon Ride was to be the highlight of our trip. I was SO excited! Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled due to high winds. This decision was understanable for everyones safety. What was NOT understandable was what we were told when we called about getting our money refunded. They said there are NO REFUNDS!! At $249.00 a person, this was no laughing matter. I could understand if WE had cancelled, but this was not the case. We had nothing to do with this decision, and you must pay in advance when scheduling your ride. The women I spoke with at the Vegas Balloon Ride Co. was rude and totally uncaring. Thank Goodness we purchased our tickets thru Groupon! I called them in total disbelief, and they immediately refunded our money. You can't predict the weather or the future, so I strongly advise you, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
