Although there are a lot of positives about the Desert Rose Resort, I can't agree that it deserves the high ratings by many of the previous reviewers.

Positives: great location, friendly staff, lots of parking and GREAT beds. The layout of the units was good with 2 full bathrooms and a full kitchen.

Negatives: carpet worn out, poor construction including doors that don't close, really noisy bathroom fans, incredibly loud external gates and noisy hvac system.

Having said that I would stay there again for the positives.

My husband & I were booked to stay at the Desert Rose from Nov 4-11. We were unable to take our trip due to a sudden medical emergency. When we booked our trip it specifically said "no cancellations". I called Desert Rose on the morning of the day we were to arrive and spoke with a lady by the name of Rachel. To make a long story short she refunded every penny the booking cost us. My husband & I specifically needed this type of accommodation (kitchen included) due to medical reasons. I have to say that first for the price, the layout and location were perfect. Most important the fact that the hotel refunded our money says a lot for their integrity considering the fact that they really didn't have to refund anything. I have to say I have read some pretty crummy reviews about this location but dear travellers I really think you need to read between the lines. If I have the pleasure of traveling to Las Vegas in the near future this will probably be my first choice.

We stayed the week of November 10th, 2014. Desert Rose is an average resort with several views of the Las Vegas Strip. Because this was a resting vacation, we chose to have a 2 bedroom villa overlooking the pool-which was GREAT. The rooms were clean, but "worn" with furniture that needed to be replaced badly. We had trouble with the room keycard. It would demagnetize and we were unable to open our room door, and the entry gate. We had 4 trips to the lobby to have it corrected. The last time we were chastised by the lobby clerk who wanted us to wait in the line of 6 other folks in front of us. (We wouldn't have minded if this was the FIRST trip to correct the keycard....but our patience had pretty much run out by this time.
I don't think I will return because of not only this, but the rooms are in need of remodeling.

Room Tip: Wifi is not up to speed if you are desiring to view movies from the web. Get ready for long waits of...

Been staying here a few times and the age of this place is starting to show. Wifi sucks as usual. Room had a bad odour. Furniture is old and in need of replacement. No longer can you get the free breakfast or evening drinks. Prices are going up and the services are disappearing fast. It no longer has the appeal for me. Will be looking elsewhere next time.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms at the rear of the building as the noise from the morning dumpster truck so...

The hotel is just off the strip near MGM and Hooters, ten min walk.Rooms are apartment style with generous room sizes, lounge diner, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.Enormous beds two people lost in them.Clean and well appointed great value for money.Nice pool area and free coffee in entrance lounge.Much cheaper than the strip hotels and peaceful, you can't get away from noise and bustle in the showcase hotels..Highly recommend.

Room Tip: All seemed to be as similar, ask for balcony

a very nice place, clean, friendly staff, close to the strip. My only complaint was the the carpets were very dirt, not to look at but after a few hours of walking around the apartment without socks my feet were very dirty. The staff apologized and said that there were renovations going on and that something might have been overlooked. I tend to believe them because everything was very clean. I would certainly go back and recommend to friends and family. The only other complaint I have was the wifi, coverage was awful and needs to be improved.

Room Tip: ask for something with a good wifi signal if that is important to you.
