“Excellent value - quiet but only 5 mins from Strip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

Our first visit to Las Vegas - we booked this accommodation based on tripadvisor reports. It was excellent value for money compared to the Strip hotels. Nice apartment, adequately furnished. Good breakfast facilities - free tea and coffee 24hours. Friendly helpful staff. Would recommend and would stay again. (The single beds were rather uncomfortable).

Room Tip: The front of the building is nearest to the breakfast facilities.

We got a 2 bedroom suite. Small, ugly and one bedroom had its own bathroom. Other bathroom, scurry across the hall. Beds miserable. 70's decor--I said on walking in, "at least the fridge isn't avocado green." Dishwasher broken. TV's were old and I'm sure the nearest flat-screen was in the Hooters hotel, whose butt-end filled our view. Kitchen about like my first apartment, but with fewer utensils. Not Residence Inn by a long shot.

On the other hand, staff were great. Can we have coffee filters? Can we have a pillow? They scurry away too fast for you to tip them. Morning breakfast perfectly adequate.

Location: yes, they're a block and a half away from the strip. If you don't count going around all the walls and barriers. Still, good location, 10 minute walk to the MGM.

I won't stay here again, but if you can get this for under $100 a night, totally worth it.

I had a fantastic time at this hotel in Vegas. It was 5 min walk to MGM grand and strip. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very welcoming, complimentary beer and wine, for before you go out, good breakfast buffet, relaxing pool and good gym. Spacious condos with everything you need. It is not attached to a casino, which suited us for this holiday, and is mins away from the airport so is the first stop on the shuttle. we missed our flight home (oops) so stayed another 3 nights here in another room just as good, and received a lot of help from the staff. This is a fantastic hotel, well worth the price xx

Room Tip: all rooms are a good room!, take a walk round the grounds to take good pics of vegas from here!

It was our first visit to Las Vegas and everyone told us we must stay on The Strip. Having ignored that advice and chosen the Desert Rose for its low prices, we found we had made the right decision. The hotel is basic when compared to all the big-name hotels but you can spend as much time as you want in the fancy hotels, enjoying the shows, casinos and restaurants (we spent plenty of time at the wonderful Bellagio, seeing a show and having a couple of meals). Then at the end of the day it's a real pleasure to get away from the noise and the lights to the peace and quiet offered by the Desert Rose. The rooms (suites) are great, everything is clean, the breakfast is OK, the staff are friendly - what else do you need?

Customer service over the phone was great.

Upon arrival, the carport and lobby area were attractive. Brand new condos are across the street and Hooters is the nearest restaurant and casino. The reception agent at the front desk, Ashley, spoke in a bored, yet well rehearsed monotone, but at least she was clear and easy to understand.

The one bedroom room seemed great at first. The living room area is wider than most one bedroom rentals where I have stayed. It was easy for a group of four to walk around each other. The couch with chaise lounge is big and comfy. There is a dining table for four, granite countertops, new cinnamon hued cabinets with desert hued adobe colored walls. It has a soothing desert color scheme. There is a balcony that seats two. They also have 2 bedroom units.

There is an extra deep bathtub, next to the toilet, which is separated by a door from the bathroom sink. The space in front of the toilet is about 2 feet wide. It feels like an airplane toilet.

The living room carpet was soaking wet and smelled like carpet cleaner. The only DVD player was broken. The dishwasher was broken. The elevator shuts on the second person walking in or out.

The pool area was clean. The halls were clean.

The breakfast is standard fare: scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cold cereal, juice, coffee, and apples. I love a free breakfast. The staff was diligent at restocking and cleaning the breakfast area.

3.7 miles or a $15 cab ride to Circus Circus.

Although the dishwasher was broken, the kitchen is great. I eat out for almost every meal, but I brought groceries on this trip. My total expense for 3 days and 2 nights of eating out for a family of four was $9.

I would stay here again. It isn't glamourous, but it is comfortable and convenient.

Just returned from 6 night stay at Desert Inn and found it yo be very pleasant, rooms are comfortable with fresh sheets, hot water and equipped kitchen. Although the hotel does look a bit dated compared to the grand sumptious ones on the strip it is more than adequate as you dont spend a lot of time in our room. Yes the breakfast is basic but since its included you might as well take advantage. Staff helpful and the location is ideal, short walk to MGM which you can use as a cut through.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking pool as courtyard ones can be dark

My family and I stayed at the desert rose before taking a trip to the grand canyon. The location is excellent. Not too far from the strip and not too far from the airport. When I arrived they booked us into a suite which had one double bed and a couch. It was me, my husband and my children. The poor kids had to sleep on a rather hard and uncomfortable couch. I later then found out whilst visiting my sister's room who was staying with her kids that there was much larger suites. I asked the front desk who refused to move my family too another room and so we packed up and my travel agent booked us into the Four Seasons hotel. This hotel needs to have a better system of booking rooms so that they can accomodate everyone.
Sophia.
