“This is the ideal place to enjoy a self catering holiday.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Hilton Grand Vacation Club at The Flamingo( not to be confused with The Flamingo hotel , which is on the Las Vegas Blvd), is situated at the rear of The Flamingo Hotel. The HGVC consists of self catering facilities. It is a 20-25 minutes drive from the airport. Taxi fare cost me 25 dollars , including tips, travelling at around lunch time. Fares can be higher if travelling at peak times.
My wife and I were on a grand celebratory tour for our 30th Wedding anniversary and Las Vegas was our second stop. We arrived at 1.40 p.m and checked in within a couple of minutes as our unit was ready. staff at the reception were pleasant, welcoming , friendly and professional, especially Cindy , a lovely , cheerful chatty lady. Our allocated unit 347 on 3rd floor, was fabulous with a real WOW factor. A nice big king size bed, bedside cabinets and lamps, plenty of storage space, cupboards, chests of drawers and wardrobes, dressing table, a nice , separate wash basins,en
suite jacuzzi, 2 flat screen TVs , 2 big mirrors on the walls and a full length mirror , ideal for the wife . Open plan living/dining/ full kitchen , with fridge freezer, microwave oven, cooker/oven, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery , coffee maker, utility room, washer/dryer, ironing board and steam iron, larder and storage cupboard, a second toilet with a big shower cubicle. A sofa bed, dining table and chairs, coffee table, reading lamps......etc.
The whole place was well maintained, clean, well carpeted and very tidy and immaculate. There was good lighting in all areas of the unit.outside there was some parking spaces and there is a valet service. There is also a swimming pool with deck chairs all round and guests can also share the other pools ( which form part of The Flamingo Hotel). We did not use any of these pools as they were very overcrowded and too noisy. The noise starts from around 2 p.m and goes on till 7pm. We chose to go shopping and engage in other more exciting adventures. The Flamingo used to be part of the HGVC until recently when they became 2 separate entities, which is why we experienced some hostility from the Flamingo staff when we were asking for help about something. The first thing they asked us was where we were staying. When we said we were staying at HGVC, they literally told us to go and find someone else to get the info we wanted. It appears The Flamingo is for the elite and super rich who easily flash their cash and hand out big wads in tips.
There are lots to do such as having a flutter at the numerous casinos, countless restaurants on The Strip, shopping malls, and much much more
The only gripe we had was that there was no welcome packing the room. We were parched when we arrived and there were 2 bottles of water by the TV. Upon closer look , we saw a note saying, " you will be charged $5.00 per bottle. We decided to take a walk down the shops for a coffee instead. But overall we ,thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We engaged in some friendly banter with 2 lovely girls at the reception, namely, Cindy and Camille and would like to thank them for their service with a smile , their warmth and their help throughout our stay. We strongly recommend this place to those visiting Las Vegas.

Room Tip: Use a taxi from the airport as the shuttle drops other passengers on the way which could take a long...

When the HGVC calls prior to your arrival to "welcome" you and ask how they can assist you do not expect that they care about your arrival or assisting you. The call is to book a sales presentation and they say and promise anything to set the appointment and do not follow through. The resort is quite nice and the resort staff and facilities are nice (furnishings and TV's need updating) but location is great.

I stayed in a 6 bed apartment with 3 other friends. We could have fitted in a 4 bed apartment but that would mean using a futon bed instead of a bed for 2 people so we went for the larger apartment. The hotel is ideally located in the middle of strip, with plenty of places to go within walking distance. The rooms were spacious, clean and there was so many useful amenities e.g. Washing machine, dishwasher, jacuzzi bath. We had a great stay and the staff were so helpful! Our flight out of Vegas was a late flight and the staff held our bags for us and even let us keep the key cards so we could use the pool and showers until 6pm. We loved our stay!

Our smoking studio suite was not available upon arrival, but we were upgraded at no cost to a 1 BR smoking suite. Definitely would stay here again! Had a fabulous time and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful!!

As HGVC members, we go to Vegas once a year and we have almost always stayed at HGVC on the Strip. Because of hectic work schedules, we didn't go in 2013 but we would have stayed here if we had gone. Even though it's one of the older resorts, the place is still very nice. What we like best is the location. It is practically the center of the strip and walking distance to all the casinos/other hotels. We are going to try the Elara (newest HGVC addition this X-Mas) just to check out how it is, but I'm pretty certain we're gonna end up back at the Strip next year!

It seems that the standards are slipping for HGVC properties. The overall appearance was shabby. The room was comfortable but not what we expect as members. The location is a real plus and we know it gets utilized a lot, but the upkeep needs to be an ongoing process. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the pool.

I am happy to hear you were able to take advantage of our wonderful location near the heart of the Las Vegas Strip! Since guest comfort is of high importance to us, I am excited to share that we will be refurbishing our common areas and guest rooms in the very near future. I hope you will return soon to experience our “new” look. Thanks for your review.

Enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Grand/Flamingo for my birthday weekend. This resort is convenient and within walking distance to nearby hotels. We had the studio room which had a microwave, dishes, coffee maker, sofa, king size bed and a jacuzzi/tub. If you want the quietness of the pool/jacuzzi; the Hilton Grand is where you want to be; however, if you want some fun - go next door to the Flamingo. I appreciate the convenience of access to the Flamingo Hotel for restaurants, gambling and thoroughly enjoy the entertaining pool ambiance with music and the waterfalls at the Flamingo hotel. The Lifeguards are attentive in locating a lounge chair and will assist in obtaining ice and drinks if desired. We tipped the lifeguard often compared to the waitress since he was much more attentive with providing a bucket of ice/water & beer on a hot August day. It's convenient to take the shuttle from Harrahs; only a few hotels over to get to the Rio Hotel, Bally's & Paris round-trip. For late nite quick meals; we were able to go to the food court at the Flamingo to get a burger/shakes at Johnny Rockets, sandwiches, hot dogs and pizza. There is a mini-market available at the Hilton Grand along with at the Flamingo. If you have a Rewards/player card; you can receive 10% off for purchases at the shops at the Flamingo and/or associated hotels. If you are desireing a Starbucks; you have easy access to walk from the Hilton Grand/Flamingo to the Flamingo Hotel and cross-over to the mid-section near the Linq city walk which is near the Quad. You will find the Yardhouse, Sprinkles, Ghirardelli ice cream and various shops. If you want to see a show; check out tix 4 tonite for discounted tickets for dinner, shows and tours. We were able to purchase tickets to see the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and the Pat Tilman memorial bridge. Had a great time in Vegas and enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at the Flamingo.

Many thanks for your review. We certainly feel the resort offers the quite convenience of home, while being located close enough to all of the excitement of the Las Vegas Strip. It sounds like you were able to enjoy our property and all of its surroundings. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to welcome you back soon.
