Probably the last hostel I will stay in as this type of lodging is not for everybody. Females should get an all femme dorm. An intoxicated man got into my lower bunk (no upper was avail to me) then a couple hours later stood before it thinking it to be the men's room. Staff here goes out of their way at times however there are several fees preferrably avoided such as early check in fee. $10 key deposit and its given back in cash, NOT credited back to card even if that was the original source. Housekeeping is basically intrusive: coming in several times a day, inspecting, rearranging, etc then door slamming as they leave.

We had good time at Hostel Cat. The room was clean, they allowed us to leave our luggage before and after our stay and everyone was really helpful. There is lots of activities and different people with who you can hang out during your stay in Vegas. Location is pretty good, around 15 minutes walk from the Stratosphere, what is great for such a cheap hostel.

Just got in yesterday and can not wait to leave. Been in other hostels before so I knew there is no luxury to be expected but this one is just a dump! Everything is dark, cramped and dirty. Really don't understand all these positive reviews. U have to pay for everything extra and I don't feel welcome at all :(

I thought this hostel was excellent. It is in a decent location(in between the main strip and fremont street experience). There is a 7-11 about a hundred yards down the road. It's easy to walk to the fremont street experience but I would recommend getting a bus to the main part of the strip, 20 dolars for 3 days). There is a great social element to the place. There are always activities going on and if you don't feel up to heading out they have a wide selection of movies to watch. The staff are friendly and seem to work hard. I would recommend staying at this hostel. Great value!

Cat Hostel is a smelly dump that caters to messy International travelers that can't afford a $30 room down the street. The location is out of the way of many attractions! There are extra fees for everything - like locks, towels, social events, and the quote on the phone is now what you pay at window. The beds are uncomfortable and air conditioning is so-so in triple digit heat. Roommates constantly come in and management will come into your dorm announced so no privacy. Next to Adult Bookstore with skimpy female riding a bull and hustlers on the street wanting your money. They use sexy cat as if the hostel is a brothel and is not very safe. I recommend Sin City Hostel or try the hotel across the street advertising $99 weekly rate or Priceline. Save your money and get a private room with no management rules. Floor in Kitchen bubbles up. No pool, hot tub, wi fi is horrible and pancakes are aweful. Lose your deposit if you bother management at 3am. Treat Americans worst than International Travelers by putting Americans in special rooms and must sign a break one rule and your out.

Room Tip: Try Priceline or Expedia and get a private room with total privacy.

Me and my wife stayed with these guys for a week and had an awesome time. The hostel is great value for money, the cheapest rooms in Vegas i believe. Its basic but it covers the basics really well. The dorms are clean, the sheets fresh and the bunk beds are comfy. All the rooms have air conditioning and the showers work well. We had a private room and got some great nights sleep.

The security is great, the rooms are secure and there’s lockers in the rooms for all your important stuff. There is also free wifi throughout, which is a real bonus. You can use the kitchen to make your own meals to save money and there is always space to put your stuff.

The outdoor area is a great place to chill, meet people, have a drink and listen to some top tunes. You can even plug your own ipod in if your brave enough. We met some amazing people there from all over the world. It has a real international vibe.

The location is good. A bit out of the way for the main strip but the buses run regularly and there’s a bus stop just outside, so its ok. You can easily walk into old downtown vegas and we had some amazing nights down there. They also have a handy shuttle service if there is a few of you.

The staff and management here are amazing and are only too happy to help. Every night the Hostel arranges events and things to do on the cheap. They know all the free places to go, and you can find yourself partying in the best clubs in Vegas and you haven't paid to get in. What’s not to like about that?? Its a great hostel that i thinks going places. So, if you’re staying in Vegas, are on a budget and like a good time, stay here. The only problem is, you won't want to leave : )

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, but the wifi signal is weaker there.

This place was great, we stayed twice for a few days each time and had a great time.
It is really well run, the manager and staff organises something every night out on the town and tells/shows you good ways of doing Vegas on a budget.
It is a bit out of the way but the bus to the strip passes the door every few minutes so it's not a problem at all.
We met some great people there, it's a great social atmosphere.
The rooms are good and It was well cleaned every day we were there.
All in all, it's a good place to stay and really cheap!
Do it!
