First of all this hotel is not on the strip. You'll have to catch a cab which takes $6-$15 to get over to the strip. I checked in at 3 p.m. on Friday. The line at the desk was long. After waiting 30 min. in line I was given a room. When I got up to the room and opened the door the room was a wreck. A housekeeper down the hall came over and said she did not have that room ready yet. I went back down to the desk and had to stand in line again where I was given another room. This time the room was ready. The room was an ajoining room and the neighbors were very loud. So was the noise from the street. We had breakfast downstairs. Waited 45 min. for our food. Saturday evening we went up to the famed Ghost Bar where my friends wallet was stolen. The view from the bar is great , the music and the crowd....not so much. The slots at the Palms are the "tightest" I've ever played. You'd do better down on Freemont. I think next time we will stay on the strip.

The room was nice, comfortable bed and pillows. Good view. My room had no desk or workspace. The lowflow showerhead was awful. In-room internet was $14.99/day and it was a $5 minimum to use the internet kiosk to print out a boarding pass.

I was there for a conference and got a pretty pitiful vegetarian lunch (what everyone else got minus the boiled chicken breast).

There's no shuttle to the strip, but there's one at the hotel across the street. There are so many options in Las Vegas that I would not bother to stay at the Palms again.

We stayed on Wed and Thurs night and the price was very reasonable for a great room in the Fantasy Tower. Once we got there we found out why - no one was there. Well, not no one, but there were not a ton of people at this hotel. The casino was empty. The pool probably had about 100 people there. Besides the point. The room was amazing, the bathroom was huge and very clean. The closet was great. We loved that their was also a mirror in the closet and not just in the bathroom.
The stores at the Palms are ridiculously expensive. A cab ride to Venetian was a little ofer $10. Actually a cab ride to Luxor, MGM, and the Venetian were all right around $11-not bad at all. Make sure you ask to take the highway to the Luxor/MGM and the back way to Venetian.
The food court had McD's, Pizza, Chinese, some yogurt place, and Coffee Bean. Reasonably priced. You can take coffee or hot tea to the pool but you have to buy everything else at the pool. The pool was amazing. Great service but it was $7.50 for a Coors light, $14 for a mixed drink, and $9 for a Heineken. So you know be prepared.
The Gold Coast Casino across the street has a liquor store-if you just want to stalk up with stuff in your room.
We didn't go to any clubs at Palms - we ended up on the Strip all three nights. We are so glad we stayed at Palms though. It is worth the experience. Eddie and Robbie at the hotel bar, Tropicana, offered great service and suggestions.

The Palms is a fun place to stay if you're in your 20s/30s. The crowd is always alive, there's enough to do in the one location so you don't miss not being on the strip. We rented one of the lounge beds at the pool in the afternoon, it was fun to be catered to as well as be in the middle of the action.

Biggest knock on the place is that the rooms were pretty dated. We stayed in the original tower, and I would say they look like an average Hilton room. The bath tub was very small, the TV was a 32 in CRT, just kind of old. Palms charges a decent price, so that was a little disappointing.

Great for partying and having a ball with family/friends. A little noisy for the shy, serene types. Expensive? Yes, but I liked my room and the service was beautiful. On demand transportation is expensive, but you don't need to leave this hotel until your ready to go.
