“Well worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Wondered if we had done the right thing by booking this restaurant after a long drive to Las Vegas during the day but made the effort to get there which was an extra 30 minutes or so from the strip. We have always enjoyed the Scottsdale restaurant which is also part of the Cordon Bleu Culinary institute so it turned out to be worth the effort after all. Welcomed by one of the tutor chefs - tall hat and all but not given any info as usual on the days specials which were displayed on the counter. Dining room rather bland but nice to see the open kitchen and student chefs at work. Meal very nice as to be expected, well presented and portions of the right size. No need for the huge portions found on the strip here - this is fine dining! But I do think the students on wait service need to be more profesional in their appearance and attitude towards paying customers.

“Well worth visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

Really enjoyed food, well done by students. Really memorable appetizers of crab cake and "Technique" salad. Pork & proscuto with risotto entree was great, steak with mashed potato was average. Desserts of chocolate lava cake and apple tart were both good.
Service was very spotty but adequate. Dining room has view of kitchen but not very interesting otherwise.
Price for 3 course dinner with soft drinks was $19 each...bargin for Vegas

Note: Had used OpenTable for reservation, changed time but restaurant did not update & marked us "no show". Suggest call to confirm time changes.

“Excellent food, great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Technique, formally Cafe Bleu, at Le Cordon Bleu was excellent. They offer a 3 course meal for $16. The atmosphere and food were absolutelu excellent. Service was OK and to be expected with students trying their best. Problem is that it is not open on weekends. Portions were not large but satisfactory.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

We were slightly disappointed to discover a) the menu was not the same as the one on their website, b) the number of courses has been reduced from 4 to 3 and c) the price have increased by $1. We each ordered the sea bass entrée, but were advised Atlantic salmon was being substituted. Ann’s 3-courses were a delicious beet salad, the salmon entrée accompanied by rice, and a coffee flavored panna cotta. The salmon was very plain except for a sauce on the side. My order was an unconventional Caesar salad with a mediocre dressing, a flavorful skirt steak that came with ½ of a baked potato and a delicious creamed spinach/carrots mix plus bananas foster. Overall the meal was okay, but not as good as on our last visit.

“Waste on money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

This used to be a great place to get a 5 course meal and a great dining experience. Last time I gave 5 stars but not this time. The service was uninspired and sloppy. They now increased the price to $16 and cut the meal down to 3 courses but still small portions. The food was mostly poorly cooked starting with bread served hard and compact as a rock. The Un-Cesar salad not very special. You only get half a steak which was cooked ok, but the potato was under cooked. The flourless cake was dry and hard as a rock. Gordon Ramsey would not have served any of these meals like that. This place needs a shake up. Most family dinners in town will serve a better and more fullfilling meal.
