Since my husband and I frequently visit Las Vegas, we have begun seeking out classic old Las Vegas spots and restaurants which are popular with locals. China Mama's is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in LV and so inexpensive that you can share several dishes when you dine there. The restaurant is located in the Chinatown area only a few miles from the strip. It is not too impressive to look at inside or outside, located in an old bank building in a small strip mall as are most small businesses in this area.
We ordered three dishes: Steamed Juicy Pork Buns #P23 on the menu(recommended in several reviews) they were delicious - eight pork dumplings to an order;Pan Fried Shrimp and Leek Pillow #P31 a dish that reminded us of a frittata, also very good; and Shredded Pork Stir Fry with Dried Tofu #H16(recommended by our server). The last dish was very interesting since the 'noodles' in the stir fry were tofu which had been dried and julienned. We were served tea at no charge and rice for .50 and our bill was $31.73!
The server was efficient although not overly friendly, but the overall service at this restaurant is acceptable. We will definitely make this restaurant a regular stop in Las Vegas.
