“Beautiful modern hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We stayed at the Cosmopolitan Hotel for the first time in September. We have stayed in many hotels in Vegas over the years and this is definitely our new favorite. We stayed in a Terrace Studio with a large balcony and lovely views of the Strip and Bellagio fountains. Nice comfortable room with large bathroom with a big walk in shower and bath. We tried most of the hotels bars and restaurants and found them excellent, especially the Chandelier Bar and Holsteins. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Free self parking always had plenty spaces. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Our friends booked a city room and got free upgrade to Terrace Studio, so it's worth asking.

Hotel is extremely nice and good location in the middle of the strip. Young crowd so the energy is there! Some areas, including restaurants, were a bit loud for enjoying a nice meal. Room was great. Lower rating due to the staff. Overall, staff was a bit arrogant and not tuned in to really helping guests. Reasonable requests went unanswered and we got the feeling we were inconveniencing them...even the staff in the Platinum office. Cab lines here are much longer than other casinos. Cab drivers told us that they don't like to go to the Cosmo as the staff in the drive-through treats them poorly. We had a similar experience so assuming some truth.

I always get extremely upset when a hotel nickels and dimes you for everything. Extra charge for wifi, extra charge to use the fitness center etc... They already have the expense of the wifi and fitness center. Why not just let your patrons use the services. They don't charge extra to use the ice machine or pool so why do I have to pay $20 a day to use a dinky little fitness center. It is not like these places have world class work out facilities. Come on Cosmopolitan.

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst on honeymoon.
The cosmopolitan is in an excellent location right in the middle of the strip next to the Bellagio.
We stayed in a terrace one bedroom suite which was spacious and tastefully decorated with a very modern feel. We made use of the Japanese soak tub which is great after a very long day walking the strip. The bathroom is very spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. The aircon was also very good and just what we needed when it was 105 degrees outside! The balcony got so hot I could not stand on it without shoes.

The hotel has gone for the 'wow' factor in looks for the rooms rather than functionality.
There was a wardrobe with a couple of shelves inside (we also had to ask for more hangers though) however there are no drawers anywhere. As we were there for 4 nights we would have liked more space to store our belongings. This may not be a problem to anyone only staying a couple of nights.

The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and large cupboards however there are no plates or cutlery? Which kind of defeats the whole point of having a kitchen area? (Although Vegas is not wanting for restaurants or places to eat from all price ranges, this is one the main reasons we chose this hotel) There wasn't even a coffee machine or kettle in the room. The fridge is full with mini bar items and cannot be used.Luckily we had a cool box and filled it with ice each day.
A bottle of domestic beer was $8 in the casino.(No more expensive than all the other large hotels) the mini bar items were expensive, as you would expect in this type of hotel.
The resort fee has been mentioned in other reviews, however this seems to be the norm for all hotels in America now and should be expected.
We used Valet parking which was easy & free.

This hotel does attract the younger crowds who want nothing more than to party and some of the facilities are starting to show signs of wear & tear.
I realise noise should be expected in Vegas, but our room was on the same side as the ‘party pool’ which is located on the 4th floor and plays rather loud music & gets very busy. If this would bother you I would recommend you ask for a room facing the front of the strip or pay extra for a view of the Bellagio fountains.
Check in can be a lengthy process, so expect to wait, but again this should be expected in many of the large hotels in Vegas.
Also as expected in a large hotel this big, there is no personal touch with regards to service, however we found all the staff pleasant and helpful.
As for the Casino part it does get extremely busy on a weekend and feels very cramped.
The Cosmopolitan does not have any character or theme like most of the large hotels on the strip, although very modern and upmarket, it kind of makes it seem almost boring.
Overall we did enjoy our stay, just not sure we would chose this hotel again if we returned to Vegas?

Disappointed with our first time stay here. We expected loud wild music and partying, but not 24 hrs a day. We like to have fun, but also want some class, luxury and relaxation. Room was dirty and hotel service was horrible. Restaurants were very good and the service there was great! Will never stay here again.

Nice place to stay. We stayed here 2 years ago so we decided to come back and they told us one price on the phone and we booked it with a credit card and then when we got here. It was a different story the glasses in the room was very dirty. Will not stay here again . Rip off

Caesar's, Paris, Luxor, etc, etc, sometimes feel like the 'roided out, id driven, younger brethren of Disney World. The theme based props and decor are sometimes just too much. The Cosmopolitan spares you a lot of this without skimping on the excess that people come to Vegas for in the first place. The design is classic cool, but modern. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the fountain view rooms give a nice view of the Strip and the Bellagio Fountain. The location is excellent, service good, and accompanying restaurants outstanding. The free self park lot was very user friendly with plentiful parking. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor on the fountain side.
