Our bowling league was at the Orleans Hotel & Casino this past weekend, bowling at 9am on Saturday. We finished up about noon and a few of us decided to have lunch at TGI Fridays while we waited for the league meeting. Although the restaurant seemed crowded they were able to seat our party of six with only about a five minute wait.
It's been a while since I've been to a Friday's so how much the menu had grown surprised me. I settled on the Tennessee BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich as did two others at our table. Another couple each ordered the Cheeseburger and our sixth person, deciding to be different, ordered the California Club without avocado (which in my opinion turned it into just a Club Sandwich). The food arrived without a long wait and was delicious. The pulled pork is slow cooked in their Tennessee BBQ sauce, then basted with Jack Daniel's sauce atop a toasted brioche bun with pickles and Cajun-spiced fried onion strings. It's served with fries, which are just OK, and extra sauce on the side if you like your sandwich drenched. Very good!. The cheeseburgers were huge and very good as reported by the couple, and the club was enjoyed as well.
The service was excellent and cheerful. We never had to wait for anything, they were there with drink refills, checking in on us, and not rushing us when we were finished. Overall we were very please with our lunch experience. Our league will be back next year and I know our group will not hesitate to dine here again.
