“Penthouse Suite: Good but not as good as expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We booked a "Penthouse suite" and it was on the 54th floor. The view was spectacular and the almost-floor-to-ceiling windows certaily enhanced the enjoyment. Since this was the last leg of our trip, it helps to have washer/dryer inside the suite. (A lot of struggling trying to operate this machine. No booklet or instruction available. I guess the hotel doesn't want you to use it.) Kitchen and living area are spacious. It is silly for the hotel not to stock kitchenware and guest has to request individually!! This was a two-room suite and I saw on youtube that both had deep tub (one even right by the window). However, in our case we had one standing shower and the other was a regular dumb bath tube. Sure a disappointment. The other problem was ventilation. Apparently one single switch controls and supplies air for both rooms. So you can't have a cooler room unless folks in the other room also desire it. That's not it. Sometimes smelly air can permeate from one room to another because of the single air system. Overall, the layout of the suite is decidedly for residential use. A hotel rental was probably an afterthought since the real estate meltdown? It is spacious and comfy but lack of luxury feel. We tried the Spa facility. It was a nice break from the casino activities (two minutes to Aria and 5 minutes walk to Bellagio). Don't know how much for the use of SPA since it was part of the comp. You got steam room, sauna, and a hot tub, plus other basics.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a suite with view.

We stayed for 5 night in April for my boyfriends 30th.
We loved the hotel and how it was non gambling, it meant we could just get back tio the hotel and chill, plus it smelt really nice as non smoking.

Room was fab, really comfy bed and lovely bath which filled up really quickly, we also had great views of the fountain.

The hotel itself doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other hotels in Vegas e.g. lots of bars, restaurants, shows etc but we liked that as the location is so good and you have it all on your doorstep. we spent alot of evenings next door in the Aria, wonderful modern casino and great food!

Loved the pool, not massive but good size and the hot tub was amazing- so hot like a bath! my boyfriend also thought the gym was good!

Hope this is helpful, we have never stayed anywhere else in Vegas so cant compare but for us it was perfect!

The Vdara Hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we travel lots !!! So very contemporary and very good sized suites
The suites ave everything you could want including kitchen - dining area - massive bathroom with amazing bath - lounge and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Would recommend to anyone and will be staying here again for certain.

Room Tip: Suites overlooking bellagio and high floor - we were on 28th floor

Stayed at this hotel in first week of June to celebrate our 25th wedding, excellent accommodation and hotel facilities, nice pool area and bar areas, cafe in reception with good quality food, no casino was an advantage for us, as this meant it had a calm and quiet atmosphere, excellent location for getting out onto the strip with connecting walkway to the bellagio, highly recommended.

Overall the whole hotel experience was great. The rooms were excellent and very clean. I did not have to bother any hotel staff for any reason. My room was upgraded and the receptionist was very nice and thorough. I did feel a little bothered every time the guard asked to see my hotel key just to enter the elevator. Hopefully the hotel can come up with an easier way to perhaps distinguish guests to make them feel more comfortable and less like a criminal.

This is a very clean, quiet, and elegant hotel. Even though it is four years old, it still looks brand new. I loved the green fig scent in the lobby. Security was very tight. You have to show your hotel key to get on the elevators. Staff was very friendly.

Our room was a corner suite. I did not hear ANY noise from adjacent rooms or the hallway the entire time we were there. It was a square room divided into equal quadrants (bedroom, living room, bathroom, and kitchen/dining room). The bed was a queen, and the sofa in the living room also folded out into a queen. If you are going to use the sofa as a bed, be sure to call housekeeping for linens ASAP, as they are not kept in your room. Also not kept in the room are pots and pans to cook with. You have to request those as well.

My only complaint has to do with waiting. It took three phone calls and an hour of waiting to get linens for the sofa bed. Would not have been a big deal except our little kids were waiting to go to sleep. When housekeeping showed up, he was very efficient and friendly. Made the bed super fast! When we were leaving, it took about thirty minutes for the valet to bring our car. Even the bellhop thought it was taking a long time and checked on the status.

Definitely recommend staying here!

Room Tip: Get a corner room on a high floor. Because of the design of the hotel, there are six corners on each...

I liked this hotel - it is a good value choice in Vegas. I paid around $50 per night for the room through Hotwire Secret Hotel Rate.

We were given a large suite on the 35th floor with a view of the Bellagio fountains and across to the Paris and up to Caesars. Big picture windows providing the perfect view in Vegas. Each suite has a king bed with a queen sofa bed which you have to request to be made up. There are no double/double rooms as we found out when we checked in and requested one.

This was my first time at the Vdara - I had stayed at the Aria before and liked the City Center location.

There were a couple of downsides though - the pool is quite small and got very busy in the afternoons. Sometimes it was not easy to find a bed in full sun.

The second is the resort fee! Resort fees are one of my pet hates - they should be included in the room rate. It is difficult to know what you get at the Vdara for your $25 charge per night. You do get free internet - but it is free in any case in the hotel to anyone. I made the mistake of logging in through "buy WiFi" and got a free option rather than using the "hotel guest" option.

We also got 2 free bottles of water in the fridge on day one - but not on any other days.

We didn't have a car so didn't use the valet - but then valet parking is free at all strip hotels whether you're a guest or not at that hotel.

So what do you get - other than charged $25 per night, or an additional 50% on the rate I had paid, its difficult to say!
