“Luxury, Quiet Elegance and Incredible Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

The Mandarin is a beautiful property...and truly sets itself apart from the rest! It is an absolutely pristine (calming spa scents, no casino, no smoking), relaxing oasis from the sometimes frantic Vegas world on the outside. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, fine bedding, wonderful bathrooms and views of the strip that are incredible! We were on the 19th floor which was particularly wonderful, the higher floors make the sweeping views more breathtaking. Service across the board was outstanding! All of the staff are very professional, yet personable, and all take a personal interest in your stay and sincerely want to ensure your overall Las Vegas enjoyment. It seems apparent that they focus on hiring very special people, consistent parameters (interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, energy level, etc) all guest interactions are meaningful and sincere. The facility itself is great. There are two pools (both are long and narrow), the music mix at the pool is fantastic, the food fabulous (turkey blt, veggie wrap, etc), the bar superb (strawberry basil margarita), and the pool staff are ALL terrific, very courteous, professional and accommodating...they set up towels on the chairs, provide bottles of iced water, and deliver periodic samplers of raspberry/lemonade slushies, frozen grapes, vanilla ice cream, and other cool down surprises. The Fitness Center, which has a variety of new equipment and a view to keep you there for hours, also offers Yoga, Pilates and other classes at no charge to hotel guests, I went to a 75min yoga class which was really great. We had breakfast at Mozen several days and it was consistently excellent, including the waiters/service...fresh ingredients, fluffy blueberry pancakes, eggs done to perfection, grilled tomato, asparagus side, etc. For going out, we relied on the concierge staff who were all very knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. And, regarding great staff, we also took note that on the first day, one of the doormen even recognized us upon an evening return and said 'welcome back'. The next night they arranged for the hotel car (Mercedes S550) and driver Walter, who was an absolutely wonderful gentleman, to take us to the Wynn for LeReve performance. I can't say enough about the staff, they are all so tuned in to making you, the guest, feel welcome and appreciated, and are out in front of anticipating and accommodating your needs, in a very genuine way. Upon check in we did have an issue regarding no two double bed rooms available (me, my husband and our 6'9" college son), for which they profusely apologized and provided a day bed at no charge and a round of drinks for the three of us at the Mandarin Bar. Then two days later the Director of Rooms, Max, upgraded us to a beautiful one bedroom suite, extremely large with separate living room, the entire suite was walls of windows, and since we were in a corner suite which offered180 (or more) degree views, the aura of the strip was absolutely spectacular! The Mandarin Oriental Hotel is a wonderful place to dine, relax, and enjoy!! Hope you will be able to experience the same!

I stayed here twice in 2012. Once for business and once for pleasure.

Pros: No casino. High end property in every way. Great staff. Beautiful hotel. Easy access to The Strip. No scum or thugs at this hotel. Reasonable rates.

Cons: On my second visit our mattress was like a hill. My girlfriend and I would roll down to the sides. We also found blood on the white sheets when we pulled back the sheets, which was distressing to say the least.

I love this property and the service, but the cleanliness issues on my last stay were a major turnoff and I'll probably try another high end property next time.

This hotel is amazing and certainly a much more relaxing side to Las Vegas, though its crazy world is just a step away. It's real luxury but it does come at a price and to entice you to spend your money it's all about the service, which is great. The disadvantage is you might have little money left to try your luck at gambling, you can easily spend a small fortune without trying. On our arrival we were shown a strip view room, which was ok but then offered a chance to upgrade. Of course you've just arrived so can't resist a look and inevitably it's almost presidential so virtually impossible to refuse, even when you find out its converted your stay to a $500 a night room, so keep your wits about you and your wallet. At $500 a night there is no supply of tea or coffee in the room, so you do have to pay extra for vitally everything. Had one of the best massages ever but again came at less than relaxing price of $180 plus tip, let us $400 lighte. rHotel, pool and spa are a real treat and the positive reviews are all true, just make sure you arrive with deep pockets. Viva Las Vegas

I stayed here for three nights. March 20th - 23rd. I've stayed at some nice hotels across the country and this isn't one of them. It is pretty good, but the way some of these reviews come in you would think this place is amazing. And remember, this is Las Vegas where there are multiple top end hotels. It makes me think the staff is writing the reviews. The rooms are pretty small for Vegas standards and the hotel is really dark and murky. The lobby is on the 23rd floor which is cool for a little while (the lobby view down the strip is one of the big selling points of the hotel and it is spectacular), but the fact you have to take two elevators to get to your room gets annoying after a while. My room was a city view room on the 22nd floor, which isn't the strip view room so maybe that's why my rating is average. The other negative was that the AC didn't work very well in my room. I called the front desk about it and they were helpful but at the end of the day, it nver got very cool in my room and the AC ran all day long. That was very disappointing for the price i paid per night. They said that had to do with the height of the hotel and the heat rising...not sure if that's a viable excuse. The reason the hotel lobby is on the 23rd floor is because all the floors above it are condos. I'm pretty sure this building was suppose to be condos but they couldn't sell them all. The lobby is the 23rd floor and then all the rooms are below that. The positives are that the customer service is really good and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

The negatives are:

1.) not much energy in the hotel. The bar was 1/4 to 1/2 full on most nights and it didn't seem like there was much going on.
2.) the place is really really dark. Almost like they need to turn the lights on.
3.) the room AC stinks
4.) the pool is small for Vegas standards and compared to other high end hotels leaves a lot to be desired.
5.) the rooms are small.
6.) Nickel and dime you for a lot of stuff. Charge you by the minute to use the business center and the stupid $25 a day resort fee.

Postives
1.) It's fully non-smoking and doesn't have that smoking smell that some vegas resorts have.
2.) Customer service is outstanding.
3.) Had a great location that is central to Cosmo, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood and the brand new Aria Resort. But why not just stay at those hotels?
4.) It's quiet at night.

But this place is surely not "amazing." Try staying at the Santcuary in Kiawah Island, South Carolina or the Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek. Those are 5 star hotels. This is maybe a 4. I honestly would recommend you stay at the Aria Resort next door. Gorgeous hotel with spectacular pool and has all the amenities you'd ever need.

When I go back to Vegas, I will probably give Aria or the Wynn a try.

We thank you and appreciate your feedback on your recent visit to the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas and take your comments very seriously. As you noted, providing our guests with the best possible hospitality and service has always been our mission. We are very proud of our positive reviews on TripAdvisor, as all are based on our guests’ individual experiences. Our property concept is to create an oasis, a serene reprieve, from the hectic Strip. As for your stay, we apologize for any experiences you may have had while staying with us that did not reflect our triple Forbes Five Star rating. Our engineering team is currently looking into your AC issues for that specific room to ensure any problems are identified and modified. As for our lighting, we achieve approximately 34% more energy efficiency than required by local and national regulations as the building’s thermal façade system uses sustainable building materials and incorporates day-lighting controls. Floor-to-ceiling windows also provide an abundant natural light while reducing the need for artificial lighting.

We would love to have the opportunity to speak with you directly, so please feel free to contact us: molas-socialmedia@mohg.com. We hope to see you again in the future and wish you the very best.

This was our second stay this year at this property and absolutely has to be the best place to stay for the folks not wanting a casino on the property.
From the check in process that smooth to the arrangements made for us by Megan (this trip) and Haley and Joe (last trip) you simply can't go wrong!
The second trip we reserved a Strip View One Bedroom Suite which had a few problems and in my opinion has an odd layout due to the very large structural columns that are in the room and in the way. Also, the hallway and location of closets seemed a bit out of place- still very beautiful. Alexander at the front desk came to the rescue and helped us get to a more appreciated room- albeit "Super" Suite.
The in room breakfast we had was delivered on time; hot; and delicious- try the crazy celery drink...
Megan knocked it out of the park with her attitude and attention to making sure everything was wonderful.
To the entire staff and mean ENTIRE staff- YOU GOT IT and we are customers for life! Absolutely awesome!!!!

Faboulous hotel, I wouldn't stay any where else. The location is perfect, the staff second to none. Great to be able to distance yourself from the hussle and bustle at time, great swimming pool & unlike other good hotels the pool was private, the service round the pool & the extra little touches were just brilliant. I will be back & will definately be staying here again and no where else!!!!

For my first trip to Vegas, decided to splurge a bit on the hotel and book a King Suite at MO. From the moment we arrived for a late check in, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality thanks to the doormen and front desk agent on duty. Check in and departure processes were effortless and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. It's nice to have a relaxing space (no casinos here) amongst the chaos that is Las Vegas. The outdoor pool is amazing, breakfast very good, and there's something about the fragrance in the air that welcomes you and makes you want to stay! The room was very modern with a comfy king size bed, spacious bathroom, plenty of closet space, and my favorite: the automatic drapery that opened when you set your alarm clock. Although Vegas has its share of hotels to pick from, I'm not sure I'd want to try any others after staying here...
