Saw Rick Thomas at the Sahara in mid-August with my wife and two boys (8 & 10). Tickets are always available at 50% off at the various discount locations and kids are half price to start with. VIP seating is center stage and worth the extra few dollars. His reputation was that he had one of the most kid-friendly "adult" shows in town and that description was accurate. Theater was 50%-60% full and his act is solid in an old-time Vegas, Wayne Newton sort of way. The show is more flash and soft comedy than incredible magic, although some of his illusions are excellent. My boys enjoyed it, my 8 y.o. moreso, but were not overwhelmed by it and the same could be said for my wife and I. The pricing makes the show an attractive alternative and if you go with reasonable expectations, you won't be disappointed. It was a nice touch that he was in the lobby greeting the crowd afterwards.
