We hadn't pre booked accommodation as all online was very expensive and unfortunately arrived on a Friday night, so took our chances at checkin. The queue was huge with only 2 checkin staff manning the counters which I thought was rather brainless for a weekend.
We were pleasantly suprised at the rate offered and booked in quick smart. It would have been more expensive for the strip view so settled for the garage roof view as this was our second stay in the hotel. Our checkin staffer was absolutely brilliant.
The room had a fridge, but it wasn't working so we filled our ice bucket to keep some drinks cool. No issues with the room other than there were no tea or coffee facilities and we had to go down to one of the restaurants to buy a cup of tea.
The staff in this cafe were 'going through the motions' and after the server slapped my take away cup on the counter and then forgot to give me the tea bag which I had to go back for, I really wanted a refund on the tip I dropped in the jar.
The pool is big and very inviting. In the heat I highly recommend a visit before midday when there is still shaded areas and it is not so busy. Once the sun hits the entire area, it gets very hot lying on those deck chairs.
The casino and most of the strip is a smokers heaven and if you're not exposed to smoking you might want to prepare yourself. You can not turn a corner without breathing in cigarette smoke. I don't remember it being this bad six years ago - maybe I am just getting old!!
Overall, Paris is in a great location right in the middle of the strip and I would certainly look at staying again next visit to Las Vegas.
