“great family resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

My family of 3 (me, husband and 7 year old son) stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are very spacious, plenty of room for all 3 of us. The overall property feel is relaxation. It definitely has a resort feel. It was nice being away from the strip, but close enough to venture in when we wanted. We drove in, but in hindsight I think we should have used the free shuttle, traffic was bad! We found all staff to be professional and friendly. Overall, a relaxing and fun stay at a nice hotel. Also to note, I was weary of going to Vegas in June, while it was over 100 each day. But it was fine. The dry heat by the pool felt good!

Very consistant Marriott property. Full service hotel with the added benefit of a casino. The dining choices are varied and quite nice. I feel that being considerably off the strip to be an added benefit.

Thanks to Nathan, after we got rejected by a lady; he checked us in a great room due to our gold status. We arrived around 11am, a lady told us they will call when the room is ready; we never got the call after 4+ house, we got back and found out it was ready, a disappointment; if it's not Nathan gave us a great upgrade; we will rate it 3. The Jacuzzi did not have a bar for a safety issue and faucet's handle was broken on the first try.
The women spa is a disappointment- sauna and steam room did not work. But a lady called Christien; she worked very hard for cleaning the place and response to my concerns.

When we arrived, only one person was on the check In desk, 3 people waiting to check in. A second person came, but she started talking to the other person who was checking in, ignoring us. By this time two other people joined the check-in line.

We were given a nice room overlooking the mountains. The rooms are very large and comfortable.

There are a couple of things that I thought were strange. There was no I-Pod player in the room--something very unusual for a higher end hotel. They had something in the room called a cooler, which was totally useless. These should be replaced with refrigerators.

It was very hot in Vegas and we found the air conditioning in the room a bit strong, depending on where you were standing.

We had a drink and an appetizer in the bar. It was nice to have an actual bar. We had dinner at the pub restaurant because we were tired and it was good. We had breakfast the next day in the café and it was good. There also is a buffet, a high end prix fixe restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a Japanese restaurant. All seem to have some sort of happy hour

The work out facility looked very nice but we did not use it You can choose whether or not to pay a resort fee that would include the work out room. It was nice to have a choice.

We went by the golf concierge desk and were completely ignored by the person sitting there doing paperwork.

The casino is very small. The resort is smoke-free except for the casino.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely and I imagine the spa is very good

The hotel is located in Summerlin which is away from the strip. There are several casinos in the area and some shopping If you want to be away from the strip and near some golf courses, this is a good choice, at a very reasonable price

I understand it only became a JW Marriott about a year ago and are still working out some kinks. Some changes will need to be made to bring it up to their usual standard.

Would I stay here again? Yes. Was it as good as I expected it to be? No.

The room is spacious. But, furniture and carpet are old. It only has two sofas and one desk, not enough sitting area. I stayed for five nights. The maid did not supply bathroom necessarity every day. For example, the shower rug was missing two days. I have to use the towel instead of. However, it has a very nice spa with a lot of equipment and steam room, sauna, whirlpool. I enjoyed the most the water fall shower. You got locker, robe, slippers and plenty of towels. The iced lemon water was a good touch. It has a casino within the property, good for night entertainment. The buffet was very good and inexpensive. I also used its cafe. Not the best in the world, but, inexpensive.

We had booked a 2 bedroom suite for one night as we were passing thru Vegas. However, the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms was poor. As we were only staying one night we decided live with it. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, there was a lot of dirt and dust everywhere. Just seemed to be un-used and not maintained. The room size was good for the value. Room service was good for dinner and breakfast. The black hair chunk in the one shower was just gross ( my wife has blond hair, she was with me and found the hair and was really grossed out). I will probably not recommend this hotel, based on the maintenance of there rooms.

We run events all over the country and typically run about 3 a year here in Vegas. It was an absolute pleasure working with the JW Marriott. From the very beginning with initial conversations & our tour, to pre-set up the week before, all the way through to loading up and exiting at the end. Everything was easy and by far your staff was the most friendly and courteous to date.

The JW Marriott is obviously a high end resort but what I appreciated the most was the professionalism with an easy going feeling.

As a guest of the hotel I can say it's absolutely lovely. Quite, peaceful, and comfortable.
