First of all, let me say that overall, the room was spacious, clean and modern and updated. It was 117 degrees outside during our stay. When we arrived, the room was warmer than the hallway. I checked the thermostat on the a/c which which was already set at 68, but it was uncomfortably warm. We left the room and when we returned it was still 75. The compressor was not running when we came in, just the fan, so I called the front desk. They sent up engineering, who asked me if I was told by the front desk that the rooms are "Eco-friendly". When I explained that I had not, I was told that the compressors are triggered by motion and that when there is no motion the compressors do not work the same as if you are in the room. However, even when you are in the room the compressors are turning on and off. I understand that when it is 117, sometimes the unit cannot cool the room. But the units should stay running until the desired temp is achieved. Anyway, it never got below 75 for the two days we were here, regardless of how low the thermostat was set. I realize 75 is not intolerable, and I admit I am more hot natured than most, but it was too hot to sleep with even a sheet. The breakfast was okay, but you need to be there early to avoid long lines. It was nice having a little bistro in the lobby, with reasonably priced bar-type food that was actually quite good. Overall, I liked the hotel, but just not in summer.
