We have visited Vegas quite a few times, but this was our first stay at the Stratosphere. Upon arrival we found out that our vehicle (15passenger van) would not be able to park in the normal guest parking due to its height with the clearance. A really rude Valet employee told us to park around the back, which we did and witnessed a man urinating by his truck. The parking lot was empty and the area around did not look safe. We called the hotel and spoke to security who suggested to go back up to the valet parking and see if we could park in their area. So we went back to Valet, spoke to a different much nicer man, and was told to park across the street in the overflow area. While this was annoying, we were still optimistic about our stay. The check in lines were very long, we had booked 2 rooms and wanted them joining since it was children, and were told they did not have any. Our rooms were across from eachother on the 6th floor. About an hour in the room the toilet started overflowing. We called the main desk and they sent a repairman, that came within 15 minutes. He fixed whatever issue it had, and told us housekeeping would clean up the wet towels and mess. After 45 minutes of waiting for housekeeping, I called the front desk to speak to a manager. He was unavailable and I was told he would call me right back. In the meanwhile I found a letter under the door saying the next day on our floor they would be shutting off the water for 2 hours. What?! By this point I was pretty annoyed with our choice to stay there. After another 20 mins with out housekeeping, we called back to the front desk. The manager spoke with me, and was very nice. They moved us to a different room that was joining, on a different floor. The bellman was extremely nice- I think his name was Les. They also offered to waive the 12.99 resort fee added on to your room per night. This room had some issues with the shower draining and sinks, but just went with it. The kids seemed to enjoy the pool and the location was not bad. The price was not anything better than what other hotels charged in the area. There is a pizza place in the tower that is really good.
I hope this review helps, I always try to check the reviews before I book. With all the amounts of hotels to choose from, we will not be staying here again. Our trip was still great despite the annoyances.
