“Decent.”

We chose the Stratosphere because it was cheap and on the Strip.

The location is great. The rooms were clean, large and had comfortable beds.

The rotating restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere is AMAZING! It is expensive, but worth every penny. I am definetely going to eat there again the next time I am in Vegas.

This hotel isn't one of the nicest ones on the Strip by any means. It is not fancy in any way, but it is a clean place to stay, with a good location. So, if you are just looking for a decent place to sleep at night, this is the place.

  • Liked — Price, location and the rotating restaurant!
  • Disliked — Wasn't as nice as it looks on the website.

“Great stay”

Our first night they booked us into the wrong room so we ended up staying in the tower suits which was like staying in a travel lodge. The next night we changed to the Premier Suits and managed to get a managers special with a hot tub in the middle of the room! It was worth the money we paid, the room was enormous, clean and the shower could have fitted a rugby team inside it!

One of the highlights of our stay was a meal at the resturant at the top of the tower. We had a set meal which was matched with wines and it was fantastic. Top quality dining, excellent silver service, and the revolving room was fantastic, great views of the city as we tucked into our food.

One downside of the hotel was the area it was in. At night I felt a bit vunerable, especially when we attempted to walk to Fremont Street, there were a few gangs of people who seemed to enjoy intimidating tourists.

Apart form that, the monerail was a five minute walk away, the casino itself was good. We both felt nervous having never gambled before, but the staff were ever so helpful and explained the rules as we played.

  • Liked — The hot tub
  • Disliked — The cleaners were noisy in the morning

“Stratosphere a GREAT time!”

My husband and I went to Vegas 3 years ago and stayed at the Stratosphere and LOVED it--gambling odds were better than the other hotels on the Strip, there was lots of entertainment, the view from the Tower was AWESOME and the pool area was GREAT! The convenient Monorail was a short walk away and made it really easy to get around pretty quickly. We ate at the buffet there every day we were there (4 days)--the price was right and the food was excellent and there was a lot of variety. Well, we just got back from Vegas this morning from our second trip. We didn't stay at the Stratosphere this time, but we stayed nearby, and we hung out at the Stratosphere every day! We ate at the very same buffet every day again, and the food was just as good as we remembered it. I wouldn't say the Stratosphere is for those who like excessive luxury (such as the style of the Bellagio, Palazzo, Caesar's Palace, etc.), but if you like to have fun and aren't high maintenance, it has a fun atmosphere, the employees are very friendly and helpful, and if you want luxury, you could definitely get it there for whatever you are willing to pay. Overall though, we think the Stratosphere is FABULOUS!

“Great Stay at the Strat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2008

We spent 2 weeks (yes 2 weeks in vegas) and no I am not insane, and stayed here for the full 2 weeks. It was a wonderful stay in the premier tower.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are super comfy. Maid staff was fantastic. We signed up for the Ultimate rewards card (free) and it was well worth it. We had a few free meals at the restaraunts through comps from the card, got 2 free shirts and $20 each in free slot play.
The restaurants were great also. Ate at Luckys, Roxy's Felili's and Top of the World. Not a bad meal at any one of them and the customer service was top notch through the entire resort.

For the value of this hotel it just cannot be beat. Yes it is at the end of the strip, but cabs are always outside, it is only a 10 min (max ) walk to the sahara for the monorail or you can catch a bus right outside. Never once did we feel unsafe or uncomfortable in the area. Just be smart, like you would be at home and you will have no issues.

I would recommend the Stratosphere to anyone for a short or long stay in Vegas :)

“A nice place in Vegas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2008

We went for a 3 night Tahiti Village deal. The timeshares are not a bad deal if you take your vacations and stay in hotels each time.
For 3 hours with the salewoman at Tahiti, we got three nights in the Strat. All the employees we met at the Strat went above and beyond to make us happy, with one exception. The waitress Sky in the Lucky Cafe served us a delicious Ruben at 3 AM when we arrived (thunderstorms!). The blackjack dealer Sandi was a sweetheart. Every where we turned: gift shop, show tickets, bartender, security, poolside: the employees of the Stratosphere were fabulous. The room was no frills, but very spacious and clean. A pillowtop mattress and blackout curtains were nice touches. The gym overlooks the mountains and the pool. The location is at the north most of the strip, but only a few blocks from the monorail. The American Superstars show was entertaining, and we have a great photo for $20 of us watching the show! The only knucklehead we encountered was Dan, the waiter at Top of the World. We spent $300 for a nice meal for two, and the rest of the wait staff treated us like royalty, but Dan had some issues. "I suppose you'll want your Chateaubriand medium" and so forth. Hope Dan will soon groove into the customer service vibe evidenced by the rest of the Strat staff. Drinks at Romance Lounge (tower view) with live jazz and a delicious female vocalist (even on a Monday night )was FABULOUS!

One tip: if your room key doesn't work, be prepared to show ID to fix the problem. In other words, carry ID with you all the time, even to the gym, in case your room key goes south! It will save you a lot of time!

  • Liked — warm, friendly staff
  • Disliked — only Dan, the waiter at top of the world
