We went for a 3 night Tahiti Village deal. The timeshares are not a bad deal if you take your vacations and stay in hotels each time.
For 3 hours with the salewoman at Tahiti, we got three nights in the Strat. All the employees we met at the Strat went above and beyond to make us happy, with one exception. The waitress Sky in the Lucky Cafe served us a delicious Ruben at 3 AM when we arrived (thunderstorms!). The blackjack dealer Sandi was a sweetheart. Every where we turned: gift shop, show tickets, bartender, security, poolside: the employees of the Stratosphere were fabulous. The room was no frills, but very spacious and clean. A pillowtop mattress and blackout curtains were nice touches. The gym overlooks the mountains and the pool. The location is at the north most of the strip, but only a few blocks from the monorail. The American Superstars show was entertaining, and we have a great photo for $20 of us watching the show! The only knucklehead we encountered was Dan, the waiter at Top of the World. We spent $300 for a nice meal for two, and the rest of the wait staff treated us like royalty, but Dan had some issues. "I suppose you'll want your Chateaubriand medium" and so forth. Hope Dan will soon groove into the customer service vibe evidenced by the rest of the Strat staff. Drinks at Romance Lounge (tower view) with live jazz and a delicious female vocalist (even on a Monday night )was FABULOUS!
One tip: if your room key doesn't work, be prepared to show ID to fix the problem. In other words, carry ID with you all the time, even to the gym, in case your room key goes south! It will save you a lot of time!
