“Nice hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Nice hotel, typical Vegas hotel with Casino and several eateries. NO wi-fi though which was disappointing- especially when you have to pay a resort fee which advertises Wi-Fi as one of the features. Check in was very hectic- only 2 people on the desk (which has 10 spaces!) which made it slow. Check in lady tried to give us ‘free breakfast’ which was not free (you get charged $9 per day on your credit card!) Room was comfortable, small but everything we has was there. Excellent locations- right in the heart of all the Vegas action. Close to the Bellagio and Caesars Palace. Mc Donalds right next to the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Mardi Gras tower

When we arrived Anita took great care of us and she was very friendly. When we got to the room the Internet modem was not working and there is no wifi which is very inconvenient. We called 4 times that night and nobody came up. Finally on the second day we spoke to a supervisor and the modem was finally replaced. We went down to the front desk and requested the resort few returned. The lady that assisted us was unfriendly and she seemed very agitated which in my opinion is unacceptable. We had to go back down to the front desk because there was a hold on the credit card that should not have been there. We spoke to the lead. He was very friendly and returned the resort fee for both nights being that there were several issues!

I must say that the location of the Ethernet cable is extremely inconvenient. It is located on the nightstand between the two beds so you have to plug it in and sit on the bed or stretch the cord across the bed to the table. The cord should be located near/on the table for convenience.

The bed was very comfortable and I slept well.

Right on the strip and within walking distance from everything you would ever need to see in vegas. This hotel did not have the greatest reviews, however upon arriving at Harrahs, from check in to check out we had no problems. We stayed in the newly refurbished Mardi's gras tower and the room was very clean and beautifully presented. For the 2 nights we were in Vegas for our west coast road trip we could not have wanted more. Not as posh as the Venetian or bellagio. But for a great central location, it was fantastic.

We didn't stay here but we did gamble & eat here. I wasn't too impressed with the food but was impressed with all the free tickets we got when we signed up for our players club card. You get a chance to spin for a million bucks, but all I won was buy one get one buffet. Still, that was worth 50.00 cause I wanted the seafood buffet at Rio.

Having been to Las Vegas just four months prior to this trip and staying at the Bellagio that time,
(see that review), it was very acceptable here at Harrah's. We stayed in suite 3347 for five nights, it was a nice king one bedroom overlooking the strip. The room was updated and perfect for our needs. I liked the coffee maker (Bellagio does not have them in the suites!), refreg, ect. It would have been better if the rooms/windows were sound proof but it is an old hotel and on the 33rd floor we could still here some noise and music at night.
Here is the breakdown of pros and cons:
1. We had to stay here for a conference across the street and were on a budget, for August and the price of the suite it was better than I expected. I liked the small Spa, went there for a great facial and massage, better than the treatment I had last time next door at Canyon Ranch in the Venetian Hotel. Gym was fine, did not use the small pool.
2. Nice housekeeping staff, gym and spa staff and front desk too, all helpful and friendly. I like how the place is small to navigate and you don't get lost, plus great location on the strip.
Cons:
1. If you buy a bottle of wine in their store, you have to pay an extra $ 3.00 to buy a corkscrew to open it or $ 8.00 from housekeeping.
2. They only allow one free wifi device, otherwise it is $ 11.95 a day for an extra device, so plan ahead if you are a couple on business with two lap tops, I-pad, and I-phones, etc..

Tip: Take a right out the front door and walk 5 minutes to the huge super Walgreens for water, snacks, beer and wine and stock up if you want with decent food. Get a suite on the top floors, 35, 34 or 33, it is worth the extra money. Bring your smart phone with the free app of "White Noise" to help you sleep anywhere, anytime. Check out their fun piano bar on a Thursday or weekend night. And do go see their show, the "Million Dollar Quartet" it was wonderful.

We stayed 3 nights at Harrah's Las Vegas. We had a very nice room that was both clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy and had nice linens. The parking deck was handy and easy to get in to. We enjoyed our stay here.
