“Finally Got To Stay in The Piramid”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Three of us booked rooms at the Lux and wanted to stay in the same room all three nights. My first phnoe call the woman told me we should have booked them togeather that we could not stay in room we would have to check out and check in each night. I asked to speak to a manager and she would not let me. So my husband called and the lady he spoke with said no problem. Check in was fast room was on strip 20th floor. Clean, felt right at home. My booking was supose to have a buy one get one free show ticket but was not offered that. Was looking forward to seeing Carrot Top for sixth time. The slots here were very tight. It rained and a rainbow formed over the Luxor it was cool watching the water slide down the slanted window. Would stay here again. Evevators need some work they all rock back n forth like a train ride kinda of scary.

Room Tip: If your older book room close to elevators. If your scared of heights book on lower floor hallways l...

Stayed at the Luxor for 1 week early Sept 2013. The Pyramid is in much need of a refurb. The first room we were given was a Pyramid Deluxe, except there was nothing deluxe about it. We requested a non-smoking room but were given a room that smelt badly of smoke and had a cig burn in the bedding. The furniture was dirty and dusty and the shower was dirty. I went to reception with a friend how was in our party of 11, to complain. We were moved to one of the tower deluxe rooms which were lovely. Not exactly spotless clean but far better than the old rooms. The bathroom floor looked like it had not been washed in months! We had a leaking toilet that took 2 days to be fixed, although we were offered a move to a new room but didn't want to end up back in the Pyramid so stayed put. We received a letter of apology pushed under our door which felt a little impersonal. You can expect to have about a 30-40 minute wait to check in on arrival. The Food court has 6 different places to choose food from. Mcdonald's staff are quite slow and rude, and only serve foods as set meals and not as individual items. The chicken place next to Mcd's is really nice, again there is a wait but the food is cooked fresh and hot. There is a Deli café in the far corner of the Casio which is really nice, and 1 sandwich is big enough to share. There was always a long cue at the Starbucks near the reception so we went up to the one at the food court. The MORE buffet on the lower floor in the casino let a lot to be desired. The evening food was cold, with not a lot of selection. The MGM Grand brunch was excellent in comparison. We found an Irish Pub on the shops that lead through to Mandalay Bay 2 days before we left. The food in there is excellent, hot and the staff are great. The pool area is nice, however I was shocked to find that the hotel do not provide Parasols by the pool unless you are willing to pay £70 per day each to go in the VIP area. In such strong sun I would have thought these should have been provided as there is no shade around the pool. The hotel over all, Just ok. If I go to Vegas again I would be more than willing to pay the extra to stay at Mandalay Bay.

Room Tip: Opt for the Tower Deluxe rooms

The Luxor has been a very comfortable place to stay, catch pro and college games and check out the rest of the strip. Great food options on both sides (Between Mandalay and Excalibur). Cant beat the specials as a MLifer.

Room Tip: Stay in the tower.

Had 4 nights at the Luxor, rooms nice, swift check in. Sadly no wifi in rooms or tea/coffee facilities, I guess the management want you in the casino!
Downside of Luxor is having to walk through Excalibur to get on to the strip,, awful smokey casino. The Luxor coconut smell was nice for the first day but became ever sickly!

I would happily stay here again though!

This was my second time at the Luxor! Vast improvement from the first time! I loved the Tower room! Spacious and nice and clean. We did have a small insect in the bathroom the last morning of our stay, but I have no reason to think it was an issue after everything else was so nice!! It was great and we had a good time. Loved Tacos and Tequila too great margaritas!

The Luxor Pyramid was a nice hotel to stay at, and we enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice...no real complaints to speak of. The breakfast and lunch buffet were worth the money (we never had the dinner buffet there). The staff at check in were very accomodating and amicable.

Room Tip: We had a room on the west side which faces the pool, mountains and the sunset. No complaints.

Green Features: Although it promotes being environmentally frindly, I was surprised the the lack of recycling bins for bottles and cans, but that was the same for all of what we saw in Las Vegas.

Staying in the pyramid is cool. The décor is a little dated - but clean. Good value for the money. When we return to Vegas - we'll stay at the Luxor again! Try the More Buffet all you can eat - all day. Another great value
