I have stayed at the Luxor a few times in the past and no what to expect. The room is nice (West Tower room) with nice bed, big bath, floor to ceiling window, nice TV, etc. No issues there at all (although it is a very long walk to the room).
When I arrived I checked in at the Invited Guest line and was "greeted" by Anna. She was in no mood to be at work that day! She was obviously upset up her last guest and couldn't seem to focus on helping me. THere was another gentleman Mike that was also checking in Invited Guests. He checked in 5 guests in the time it took Anna to help just me. Mike asked every guess if they would like a complimentary upgrade to a suite. Most agreed. When I asked Anna if I would be offered that she looked up over her glasses and said, "NO! Can't you tell we are sold out??!!" How would I know that??? She was rude, and slow as could be. She was more concerned about telling her next coworker about the previous guest than helping me. I just wanted to get to my room, so I shut up. I saw her the next day at the same Invited Guests line again. Why would you put this bitter, angry person at your Invited Guests line? Bad mistake and here I am commenting on it with TripAdvisor!
Anyway. Room was fine, casino was nice and clean. VERY VERY YOUNG crowd. Lot's of partying going on! But, there were also TONS of kids! Strollers everywhere. I even saw a guy playing the slots with his toddler on his lap. Nobody said a word! He was there for over 30 minutes!
Would I go back? If I have a free room, but the young party crowd (drunken) etc. and the kids and strollers everywhere? AND ANNA!!!???? I think I would choose somewhere else... sorry Luxor... you blew it!!
