“We loved our Honeymoon Here....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2005

We stayed here for our honeymoon. And we loved it!

We upgraded at checkin for a corner room which had a jacuzzi that overlooked the strip.

The room was fabulous. Absolutely huge and very clean. We had absolutely no complaints - the staff were fine and helpful.

The only drawback is the hotel is at the end of the strip. So, you had a walk if you wanted to go to shows at other hotels or just visit other hotels which is what it is all about.

Maybe next time we might stay somewhere more central on the strip, but if you have booked the Luxor, don't worry, the hotel is great and you'll have a fab tiime!

“Review of the Luxor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2005

The Luxor was a very nice place to stay...it isn't the Bellagio by any means but is clean, large and has an interesting King Tut museum on the top floor. We were there on our honeymoon and were pleased that the hotel was quiet and not loaded with children running around...though there is a nice outdoor pool so I assume when the weather is nicer, there would be more younger people. It is also where the Blue Man Group was showing when we were out there, so that was convenient for us since we had tickets to that. It is on the other side of the strip from alot of things that we wanted to see but the walking was good for us and we were able to take the new tram most of the time. We stayed in their newly renovated tower and liked our room, it was roomy and very clean, with a comfy bed, nice sized tv, and a nice bathtub (too bad it wasn't a jacuzzi though, it was big enough to be one!) and a separate walk in shower. We didn't have any problems with our hotel whatsoever and found the staff to be very friendly, especially our hotel maid who did a spectacular job cleaning our room. We'd recommend this hotel if you are looking for a hotel that is much nicer than a budget hotel but still reasonably priced, the newly rennovated tower is nice and they keep this hotel very clean. The casino is huge and it is right next to Mandalay Bay, which has an aquarium and some shopping.

“Great fun, great value”

Had four nights in this hotel at end of April. Booked on internet and got it for an amazing £50 per room per night! Was originally allocated a room inte pyramid, but found it a bit oppresive and also without a bath, so rang and asked to be moved. Staff could not have been more helpful and moved us immediately to a room in the West Tower, which was nicer than the Pyramid room.

The bars in the Luxor were great, live bands on and all excellent. Had thought that with a hotel with over 4,000 rooms checking in and out would be a nightmare, but it was effortless. Bit of a trek to get out of the hotel, due to its size kept getting lost...! Pool area was great, plenty of beds, towels, pool waitresses.

Thought Vegas, and the Luxor, were amazing. Where in the UK could you get a room in a hotel of this quality for £50 per night? Couldn't fault it.

“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2005

After reading some reviews on this website I was nervous about staying at this hotel but there was no need. We checked in quickly on the 4th April at 9.30pm, the only negative was that there is no 'central' queue - you pick a queue to stand in so you take the chance of a slow moving one! The main reason for choosing this hotel was the pyramid/inclinator and our requests at the time of booking of a non-smoking pyramid room were met. When we entered our 21st floor room I was looking for the negative things I had read about and yes, there was an ashtray in a non-smoking room, yes there were water stains on the curtains, yes, a couple of tiles in the shower had grout missing and yes, the sink did gurgle; but hey I'm on holiday and not really looking for minor faults. The room was huge, the bathroom was huge (esp. shower)and the only bad thing was the very noisy toilet! We had a great view of the pool, the freeway and the mountains beyond.
Luxor buffet average (but Pyramid Cafe very good for breakfast), enjoyed the Mandalay Bay breakfast but the Circus Circus/Excalibur below average breakfast buffets should be avoided. Highly reccommend the weekend Champagne Brunch Buffet at the Mirage - a liitle higher priced than others but well worth the money!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Luxor and would not hesitate in recommending to others.

“Huge, Huge, Huge”

This Casino is huge and you can easily get lost....the rooms were good, bathroom & showers fantastic (no bath)...probably better to stay up the strip a bit more if you are into going out partying...we had a group of 6 girls and it was a bit of a hike...we were told that there is more action where the stip turns...but all in all it was good - (although good luck trying to win money...I think our Casino's in Australia pay out much more money - didn't see anybody have a decent collect!) This casino is busy and it takes quite a while to check in...staff are friendly though and there are security guards on the lift doors so it is very safe. If you are in Vegas make sure you go to the Factory Outlet (the older one) the shopping is fantastic...Nike, Levis...very cheap.
