“Fremont Hotel and Casino Las Vegas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at the Fremont Hotel . We arrived in Las Vegas at 9:00 AM and proceeded to the Hotel arrived around 10:00, rooms were not ready yet. We knew that ahead of time. The front desk person was very nice we checked in but could not go to our room yet, asked us to come back at 1:00 pm and the room would be ready. Checked our bags which was a breeze, went to find a place to eat. For the 4 days we stayed at the Fremont each day we rec'd a $20.00 meal voucher that we could anywhere at the Fremont. I think the first morning we ate at the Fremont Buffet for breakfast which is always good. Love there steak nite on Wed and Sat at the Buffet. We returned after strolling around and looking to see what changed, went back and checked in we did not want the side facing the Fremont Experience a little too noisy to sleep. We had the room 11th floor room 36. Very nice size room, was always clean, room service good, and bathroom ok size. The only thing the fan in bathroom are only there for pretty they don't really work. The bellboy brought our bags up to the room after checking in, it only took him no longer than 5 min to get there. Set up our bags on the stands, tipped him and they gave us a complementary frig which showed up in 5 min also. Now I like this place a little more. My husband started gambling here, he started with 3 card poker and won a little bit on our first nite. Then switched to Bj and kept winning some each nite. He loved the dealers at the Fremont, they are so nice and they talk to you. We switched one day and went to another hotel to try out the dealers at the BJ table they were not friendly no customer service. Came back to the Fremont always friendly no matter who you talked to, and any question you had they would answer for you.
Room was nice and always clean and maids were wonderful. If you asked for something they would get it for you. We live in PA and we went in Sept I always sleep with a blanket even if the air cond is on, I asked for one they instantly went and brought one to our room. It was there when we came back.
This was our first stay here and we will return next year to this location.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 1136 nice room on other side of Fremont St Experience, was very quiet

The room was not large but not too small. The king size bed and the pillows were excellent. From valet service to the check-in counter was only a few steps and the elevators right across from the counter. The workers were very nice and the atmosphere was great. The street experience was out standing and all the live bands were good. had a street side room next to the light show and part, was noisy but slept very well. Will stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on east side have less light and noise.

The rooms are very small but clean and the bed was nice enough. Check in was fast and the people very polite. One thing about the downtown hotels is that although you won' t get an overly fancy place, you certainly are close to everything. It' s nice to be able to walk to 8 or 9 different casinos whether it be to see a show or to visit a particular restaurant or just play machines in a different place. You can do what you want down there without feeling like you are insulting someone or bothering anybody. The Gordie Brown show we went to was about a 3 minute walk away( very good show by the way) and the buffet the next morning was down the elevator and then just around the corner.(I was pleasantly surprised at the good quality of the food there). We were going to take advantage of the $10.00 steak and lobster deal but just couldn't fit it in. So basically if you are a really big person you may find the rooms a little hard to move around in but really we encountered no problems and didn't have any complaints.

I stayed at the Fremont Hotel in Las Vegas during Sept. 2011.
I had a standard room on the 7th floor. The room was small but
clean and steps from the elevator and casino. My room was on
the Casino Center st. side of the building. Yes, there was some
noise from the Fremont St. Experience till 2am. but I was out
wandering and gambling so it didn't bother me any. If your a
complainer, crybaby, or light sleeper stay on the back side of the
hotel (and then complain about the walk to the elevator etc.)
or stay home!

Room Tip: Stay on the back side of the hotel if your a crybaby, complainer, light sleeper away from the fremo...

For the budget traveler, this offers a surprisingly varied and ultimately, pleasing experience. This was my first trip to Vegas and I couldn't pass up the deals for the FremontHotel & Casino offered through a Vegas-based travel site. I made a reservation at the last minute for a mid-week stay, arrived at about 5:00 and obtained a non-smoking room per my request. There is no self-parking, but the Valet Parking is free and presented no problems. Staff were friendly and offered breakfast deals and club memberships to get me started. The rooms represent pretty standard-fare--wouldn't consider it luxury accomodations by a long-shot. Make no mistake--this is the heart of old Vegas (the vegas I remembered from the old movies), you get Neon, but no glam-on. With the addition of the Fremont Street Experience (a covered stretch of Freemont street that offers light shows and videos on the ceiling) you get a mix of nostalgia, hi-tech diversions, some "colorful" characters/street performers (keep an eye out for limited number of hi-risk folks), REALLY LOUD ROCK-N-ROLL bands on street and an overall entertaining (almost overstimulating) experience. I even worked up the courage to try the "zip-line" that hurls you down a line above the crowds along the Fremont Street Experience. My room was on the 8th floor, it was compact with a small bathroom (tub drain was slow) but clean. With the commotion in the Fremont Experience at its most feverish, it could get a bit noisy in the room, but turning up the a/c fan minimzed the street noise. Hey you're in Vegas??? Did you come to just stay in your room?. The Casino staff are friendly and helpful, as well--I lost, but did enjoy the fun of it. The breakfast buffet was big and the food was very good. Access to the more modernized LV strip hotels/casinos was easy utilizing the "Deuce" bus that runs up and down the LV strip 24/7--bought day passes for the bus right on the street corner using an automated kiosk. I noticed that when I went to the strip it was hot as heck walking along the streets; however, when I was walking along the Fremont St. Experience, I was far more comfortable. The Fremont Hotel as part of the overall Freemont experience is fun. Consider the price that you're paying, and you should be satisfied. Ignoring/Surviving the volume of cigarette smoke that poors from casinos was my biggest challenge.

Room Tip: Get a room on the upper floors.

The parking is valet only but no charge other than the tips, rooms nice but noisy (to be expected due to location and age of hotel) no pool, staff friendly and helpful, but I'd stay in their sister hotel (California) just around the corner next time as it was the same price, easier to park, quieter and has a pool, (about a minutes walk away)

Room Tip: Try the sister hotel (the California) better all round, and the same price

We ususally go to Las Vegas twice a year and this was the first time ever in our travels anywhere that we were forced into a smoking room. I booked reservations 2 months in advanced and checkin on a Sunday was at 3:00 p.m. and we arrived at 4:30 and were told all non-smoking rooms were gone. I have never had this happen before anywhere we have ever stayed. We could change rooms the next day but that didn't resolve the problem for the first night. All the check-in girl kept saying was that it was "only a request". Very frustrating! Fortunately we ran into the maid on the floor and she was very pleasant and we told her we were upset that we were being put in a smoking room and she came in with us and said she would spray and open the window. She was so nice and sympathetic about the whole thing that it calmed us down. The room wasn't too bad but we did notice that our clothes and suitcase smelled like cigarette smoke when we got home. Our suitcase is still opened in the garage airing out with Febreeze 5 days later. The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable so I would have given this hotel at least 4 stars if not for the smoking room assignment.
