“Crowded but Worth It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I recently stayed at the Mandalay Bay primarily because of this pool. I had been to concerts there before and wanted to enjoy it for the beach itself. I was there on a Wednesday-Thursday at the end of May and it was still quite busy. I can imagine that it would be pretty miserable on a crowded weekend. The chairs are placed together like sardine cans. However, I still really enjoyed myself. The wave pool is great and probably the best feature is that you can't jump off the side. Therefore, you can be out in deep water and not be pestered with kids doing cannonballs constantly. The water was perfect too.

The lazy river is pretty neat. You don't need an innertube, so skip it. A noodle would have been helpful and you could probably bring your own if you had the ability. But, I enjoyed it without either.

There is also a regular pool that I didn't check out. The bathrooms were in great shape.

“Very Crowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We were there mother's day weekend and the pool area was crowded. We got fortunate to find a couple of chairs available by the lazy river. Everything is more expensive at the Mandalay Bay it seems. $20-$24 for an inner tube. Drinks from $8 beer to $14 frozen beverages. Snack bar prices were equally absurd so we chose to skip. The pool/beach area, however, are great. The lazy river is relaxing and provides convenient exit points to get to the restrooms, bars, etc. The wave pool is also nice with the occassional wave with one 5-10 minute continuous wave flow per hour. We did not go to the other pool areas or the hot tub. Get there early to get a seat or if you can afford it, rent one of the numerous cabanas that were availalbe. Overall it was a enjoyable time.

“Spring break CROWDED, but good pool(s) otherwise.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

This pool is great for kids, the wave pool was fun and the lazy river was the big hit with out 7 and 10 year olds. That said, during spring break, it was REALLY CROWDED. To the point where you had to stake out chairs early, and by mid afternoon, the lazy river was overtaken by drunken partiers, making it, in my opinion, dangerous for little ones. If you are there during a mellower time of year, I think these pools would be awesome. During spring break, we chose to keep to the pool at the Four Seasons, where we were staying, for a less hectic experience. One tip- bring your own floaties for the lazy river. They charge some idiotic price per floaty (25.00 maybe). You can take your own floaties to the place where they blow them up and they will happily blow them up for free.

“Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

Love this pool. Not to hard to find a lounge chair. The food choices are annoying and not many healthy options, but the sand in your toes or riding the lazy rive on your own tube is worth it. The bungalows and private pools are expensive but worth it if you're into pampered privacy. We like to pay for the cushioned specialty loungers because we see that as worth it, but a bungalow wouldn't be worth it unless you've got a large family to enjoy it's perks.

“Fun, fun, fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

I don't usually enjoy spending time at pools, but this one is completely different! I had so much fun at Mandalay's "beach" that I always recommend this hotel! The pool is great and you do feel like you're actually on the beach! Awesome!
