“GREAT tour :o)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2010

We had a wonderful time going to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It is a very long ride, almost 600 miles round trip, so bring a pillow. Our driver Jeff made the trip very pleasant by giving us lots of amusing stories and history about Vegas and helping us all understand how to tour the canyon once we got there. This company actually does give you 3hrs+ in the canyon and good directions on how to walk 2 1/2 miles along the edge. The construction at Mather point (Jeff said it has been going on since spring) looks almost done but we dd not see any workers on a sunny Thursday afternoon...

We were picked up on time, met other people at the Excalibur and after getting a snack bag (OJ, banana, cinnamon bun) we left before 7:30am. Driver said because the new bypass bridge was open ahead of schedule we would cross over but not see the Hoover Dam (he did drive slower and give us a photo op from the bus on the way back), he apologized and said it used to be a stop but said we would get back to Vegas early. We did get back by 8:15pm to our hotel.

The only bad part of the trip was that the DVD player had very little sound so the movies were hard to understand. For some reason "Vegas Vacation" played a little louder and was great to see as we came back to Vegas. Otherwise it was a very good trip and I would recommend this company. Ask for Jeff for your driver as he very funny and helpful to all.

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2010

After reading so many horrible reviews on these bus tours, I almost banned the idea of a Grand Canyon tour. However upon arriving in Vegas, we still decided to do it. Since all of them did not have favorable review, we just grabbed a flier and went with this one.

The tour was $80 if you paid in cash, we got picked up at our hotel at 7am (with light breakfast of OJ, cinnamon roll and banana), and left the strip with around 30 ppl (just a word of advice, when they tell you the time they will pick you up, you better be there, because a group from Circus Circus missed the pick up and they had to take a taxi to meet us at Excalibur). We made a very short (5 min) stop over at the Hoover Dam for photos, and then stopped again at Kingman for a bathroom break. Finally arriving at the Grand Canyon by about 1:20pm. The bus driver handed us lunch boxes with turkey/cheese sandwich, apple, cookie and chip. Many people mentioned that these tours did not give them enough time, but this was not the case with us, they promised 3 hours, and they did indeed give us 3 hours, as we were told to meet back here at 3:30. We had ample time to take the free shuttle to Marthar point and hike back to Yavapai and then get back to Bright Angel Lodge for more sight seeing.

We left right on time (good thing no one was late) at 3:30pm, and finally got back to our hotel at around 8:50pm. A very good and smooth trip. Our driver was knowledgeable and he played several informational videos on the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, and a few movies as well.

Overall, we enjoyed our trip and would recommend Grand Tour to others, and they do deliver on their promise of full 3 hours at the park. But keep in mind, a 5 hour ride is certainly tiring, and bring a neck pillow.

“Grand Tours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

I went on Grand Tours in early June and enjoyed the trip to the West Rim.
The person on the 800 number was very pleasant and upfront about the Sky walk being extra.
The driver was nice, but a little "spacey". Our tire blew out on our drive in(unpaved road) and he did not even know it- this seemed odd, since you could hear the sound and smell the rubber of the tire)we made it there safely and back safely with one tire blown out. I did pray to get back with no delays and there was a Dude from Australia, who assured us that we would be fine.
Our driver did get us back safely, so spaced out our not, he was okay. If you did not know that at the West rim, you would be getting on shuttle buses, then you were confused, because this informatioin was given out quickly that I had to explain it to my mom. The foreign tourist seemed very confused with the verbal instructions-they arrived late back at the bus. Driver just sat waiting for them, which was annoying.
So I would say that they should detail the written instructions.
If we did not have the tire incident, I would have given them 4 stars.
They showed a video of the Hoover Dam, but the front video was not working- the driver told us-for the money you pay, this could have been fixed.
I would recommend them.

We had a terribly disappointing experience with Grand tours ,their only priority seems to be to get you to the canyon & back at the fastest without any time to see the place or do any activity..the driver we had was surly, unfriendly & intimidating, I had also mailed the Grand tours giving details about how the annoying & unpleasant experience we had but have got neither an apology nor a response. My simple & sincere advice is, walk if you must but DO NOT take this tour.
