Owner description: Vegas Indoor Skydiving, formerly known as Flyaway, operates America’s first indoor skydiving facility built in 1982. At Vegas Indoor Skydiving guests will earn their wings and experience bodyflight during a simulated skydive experience in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The experience is similar to skydiving with the addition of a mesh trampoline floor and foam padded walls. Guests are able to simulate the freefall aspect of skydiving without the use of an airplane or parachute. Our mission is to provide a safe and memorable indoor skydiving experience to the general public, understanding that everyone will learn and grow at different rates, adapting to the ability of the flyer, and to encourage their development by sharing our love and knowledge of flight. We use a vertical wind tunnel to introduce guests to the sport of indoor skydiving. The tunnel produces enough wind to support the weight of an average adult. At Vegas Indoor Skydiving, each flyer will attend a brief training class, suit up in all the necessary flight gear, then jump in the tunnel and fly. The entire experience will take about an hour. The wind tunnel itself is about 22 feet high from the trampoline floor to the top net. The whole tunnel is 12 feet across. The fan is a DC3 propeller that is powered by a 1200 hp electric motor.

“Skydiving minus the fear of death”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

I've been to Vegas 3 times and I had been wanting to trying indoor skydiving ever since I heard about it. It was so much fun! The staff was excellent and very good about making sure we knew the hand signals and the safety procedures. We got lucky and when my fiance and I arrived we were the only 2 in our group so we got a little extra time. When we arrived went up to the viewing gallery and watched the staff playing around inside the tunnel and doing all sorts of fun looking tricks. I would recommend this to everyone!

“Great fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

Pure adrenalin fun. Never done sky diving before but after doing this I can tick that off my list of things to do. A great experience when you are in Las Vegas to do during the day, and you get to wear a cool funky suit. You feel like you are floating on air....lol.

“Best Christmas gift I ever gave my 70 year old wife!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

This adventure was Christmas gift for my 70 year old wife(who will try most anything). Staff was OUTSTANDING continually stressing safety and reassuring everone in her group(two teenagers their mother and my wife). The experience according to her was lots of fun. P.S. she flew the highest and the best of the group!!

“Incredible Fun !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Not exactly inexpensive, but as you can see from the facility as well as with the staff, this is not a cheap thing to operate !

The experience is awesome, the staff teach you what you should do, and how it should be done, so that your "flying" experience will be exciting and controlled.

You will be fitted into a suit that has "webbing" between your hands & body and your legs, such that the wind that is being propelled upward from the large propeller (in the basement) will catch and lift you up into the air. It is perhaps the closest that any human will come to flying you can imagine !

The walls are quite well padded, and you have a helmet on, so if done properly, you will have nothing to be worried about. Pay close attention to what the staff member will tell you to do, so that you will be able to move about, up & down, left & right, etc.

This is the other great thing about Vegas, there are so many neat things to see & do, as well as great entertainment !
