Owner description: Millions and millions of people have flocked through the doors of Madame Tussauds since they first opened over 200 years ago and it remains just as popular as it ever was. There are many reasons for this enduring success, but at the heart of it all is good, old-fashioned curiosity. Today's visitors are sent on a unique, emotionally-charged journey through the realms of the powerful and famous. The museum-style ropes and poles have gone so guests can truly get up, close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons, reliving the times, events and moments that made the world talk about them....

“Package Deals make it great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2007

We went to the Wax musem as part of the "Romance Package," which included admission for 2 to the museum, an outdoor gondola ride for 2 (not private), and lunch or dinner for 2. I highly recommend this package if you're in Vegas with your special someone as you can easily spend a day at the Venetian wandering around and gambling in addition to finishing the Romance Package.

The wax museum part of the package was entertaining. As some reviewers before me said: some of the figures looked more lifelike than others. I noticed that their hands all looked really weird. Some of the figures talked when you neared them, others blushed if you touched them.

It was fun, but I probably wouldn't do it again just because it was so crowded.

“Fun diversion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2007

If you're looking for something relatively inexpensive to do to get out of the Las Vegas heat for a while, Madame Tussaud's is a great choice. The $20 I paid to get in (admission is normally $24 for adults but coupons are easy to come by) definitely wouldn't have lasted as long at a slot machine or gaming table.

Some of the figures are more lifelike than others but most of them are just freakishly realistic. I was there the morning they had just installed the Jack Sparrow and Will Turner figures from Pirates of the Caribbean and my picture of Jack looked like I had really met Johnny Depp.

The best part of the museum is that interaction with the waxworks is encouraged. Hold hands with George Clooney at your "wedding", run your fingers through Ben Affleck's hair, defend the basket from Shaq...all that and more can be done.

The Chamber of Horrors, while not for everyone, was better than I expected. It started out kind of cheesy and silly but by the time we were ushered through, I have to admit my heart was beating a little faster than normal. To the person who didn't care for this section, keep in mind that it was voluntary. You are allowed to skip it and move on to the next exhibit.

At the end, you wind up in a gift shop that doesn't seem to have much to do with the museum itself (photos of you with the Elvis figure notwithstanding) but still has all kinds of funky, kitschy items and other souvenirs.

This was fun !!! Had a two for one coupon which made it better. I had never been to one of these so I was amazed this stuff was wax. The photo ops are really fun. Get a coupon for sure cause its kind of high otherwise.

“Fun, but don't go into the Chamber of Horrors...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2007

Yes, it's really fun to take your photo with a "celebrity" and see all the wax statues - they look so real that you expect them to start moving at any second. BUT unless you are ready for a "maniac" (aka frustrated out-of-work actor) to chase you around in a hockey mask with a chain saw I'd skip the Chamber of Horrors part. This was a totally inappropriate and crude part of the museum.

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2007

This trip being our 2nd venture to Vegas, we needed something new to do. It was fun and different, but overly priced IMO. Fun to take pics w/ your fave celebrities, some looking more lifelike than others. For the price, I thought there would be more figures but still a good time-killer.
