We went to Freemont Street on the second last day of our trip after being overwhelmed on the strip. Wish we went there a little earlier in the trip. What a great place. If I go back to Vegs, Freemont Street will be the first stop of our trip. Great free entertainment, cheaper drinks and dinner than the strip. We felt completely safe all the time and the light show was incredible.

before even leaving to go to Las Vegas, we were told to check out this area, by many friends who had already visited and to definitly see it in the evening time..boy were they right on with that tip. We visited on a friday evening and it may have been more crowded than usual just because of being a friday but outside of that, the lights and sounds here are incredible. very good musicians on every corner and a good variety of music to satisfy anyone. At night the visual effects overhead created an awesome display that went well with the music they play like a block long MTV video and the very friendly atmosphere from kids to older adults are fantastic. We noticed that there was more of an older crowd ( 40+) around Fremont, when we were there and not to say thats bad but maybe there is just more experienced or perhaps knowlegable visitors, that know, what goes on in this area. I'm not so sure that the slots are "looser" as many say, I sure didnt walk away loaded, but I did notice that food deals are alot cheaper here, than on the strip. I plan to return to this again and enjoy parts that I may have missed.

One of the many highlights of our trip to Vegas was our evening spent at Fremont Street. The light show and music was great. Lots of little shops to go into. Very good food at the Bay City Diner in the Golden Gate Hotel. Fremont Street is a definite must see when in Vegas. * * * * *

Fremont has everything, light shows every hour, cheap beer, drinks, food, live entertainment, casinos, shops, and just a great all around atomosphere.
