“TRUMP can't be trumped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

From the moment you drive up to the front door and are greeted by the doorman until the door is closed by the valet when leaving, you are treated like a cherished guest.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I wanted an extremely soft pillow and only had to ask; it was delivered within minutes of my request. Service and with a glowing smile--plus he asked if he could get us anything else to make our stay more comfortable.
Our room had a kitchenette with a supply of coffee, tea, and bottled water. WE were reminded if we needed more of anything to contact housekeeping and they would gladly have it to the room post haste.
Though we did not use the pool, it was beautiful and had all that one would need to enjoy the day in the sun or shade.
Being a smoke-free hotel made breathing easy and it was very quiet since there was no casino traffic. Family friendly and easy access to fashion mall directly across the street.
If one wants to go gambling, the hotel will shuttle you to the Ceasar's area and pick you up until arond midnight.
All around, a great experience.

Room Tip: room types vary since this is both hotel and hilton affiliated timeshare.

"Bright Light City Gonna set my heart, gonna set my soul on fire" With apologies to Elvis for using the song quote, don't go looking for a Vegas experience here at Trump because you will NOT find it.
We checked in here for three days after a taxi ride from the airport which didn't start us off in the right frame of mind because the hotel is situated in what appears to be a building site, there's nothing around it and it is behind the Strip just perched there behind everything and overlooking the ambient loading docks of the big department stores. So we get inside and there's a long wait to check in but upon arrival at the desk the girl immediately asks us if we want to upgrade (an extra 30- per night) to have a Strip veiw. (Do this is you want to see Vegas at all because otherwise you're overlooking the freeways and a train line and not much else.) The rooms are weirdly sited behind double doors which lead into a lobby of sorts rather than the hallway so you share this with the next room which is a little unsettling. The fittings are tired, the carpet is awful and there is no cutlery or crockery or tea towels despite there being a hot plate and a mini fridge, you have to phone downstairs and wait a long time and make several more calls to get any of those things, for health reasons they say there's none of those things in the room. Don't believe what people say about the food being cheap in Vegas to lure the punters in, that might have happened in the past but those days are gone forever, the room service here was very pricey, 38- for a breakfast (one bowl of cereal, one juice, two pieces of bread and a pot of coffee)
On our second day there, the toilet overflowed after being flushed. In a panic, because water was flooding everywhere, we called housekeeping. "Oh we'll get there when we can" they said! After several more calls they eventually sent up maintenance who took one look at the now flooded bathroom and made a call and they still didn't arrive! Do they not care about anything? We went downstairs leaving the water now encroaching onto the carpet but stemmed by towels and complained again then went onto the Strip stressing that we would not be paying for any damage because we had alerted the hotel to this more than 45 minutes before. When we returned after a day on the Strip, the mess was thankfully cleaned up but there was no mention of an upgrade or move or anything.
If you want casinos (you are in Vegas after all) shows, shops and Elvis and look alikes do not come here. There are no shops downstairs, there is no casino, there are no shows. There is a coffee shop and a tiny little shop selling overpriced Trump merchandise and other sundries also overpriced open between 7am - 10pm. It was actually a relief to check out and head off to the next part of our trip.
All in all we were so disappointed and jaded about Trump because it is just not Vegas. It just feels wrong, it doesn't feel like Vegas. If that's what you want (because after all you may never pass that way again and you might have been really looking forward to the Vegas experience) torture yourself, see what a Vegas experience should be and walk over the road and have a look at Wynne. Now that's VEGAS!!!!!

Room Tip: If you must stay here upgrade to pay for a Strip view. There's nothing else to look at otherwise...

Jerry at the front desk was awesome, the first gal we got was short of being rude, but we called reservations, got a room booked on the phone and then got Jerry at the desk. He saw how poorly another guest was behaving, we were too tired to argue with her. He went out of his way to make a potential bad situation into a positive one. He was very professional. Of course the hotel had all the comforts we are to expect from a TRUMP, great beds, great appliances on the kitchen, beautiful hotel! We stay here every time we come to Vegas. ITS GREAT, no smoke and no casino noise!

Room Tip: Views are great!

The Trump is great if you want somewhere to escape to for a quiet recharge after making the most of everything Vegas has to offer. We enjoyed the friendly service, the amazing views, not having to walk through a casino to get to the lifts, and the location on the strip suited us.

The room was spacious and comfortable and very clean everyday.
The train noise that other reviews was not loud enough to disturb our sleep, and there was no hallway or neighbour noise at all.

There was one small glitch at check in where we paid for an upgrade but were sent to the original room, but the counter staff realised their error and proactively arranged moving us to our correct room before we had time to call them. It was good to see two rooms anyway and while the city view on the 20th floor was good, but the strip view from the 55th floor blew us away, especially at night.

A great hotel, run by people who know how to look after their guests.

Room Tip: Strip view is worth the upgrade.

My "average" 3-star rating is not because its a below-ordinary hotel. It is just because it ain't "Vegas!" What does one really expect when they go to Vegas - I always think of the sprawling casinos, a gorgeous party vibe, bustling energy, and lovely lit up streets! Well, you get none of this while staying at The Trump!

Don't get me wrong, its a brilliant property with a luscious, inviting lobby and suites. We payed extra for an upgrade to a corner suite with a "strip view!" (Right at the reception, they shove this offer in your face and yes! We were were easily tempted!) However, that side of the strip is kinda bare and "doesn't really blow your mind away" for the amount you're paying. Honestly at that amount, I could have stayed at Caesars or Bellagio, which is where I ended up traveling to every night anyway! Coz yes! Like most people I was in Vegas for the vibe (and the casinos!)

They do provide a free shuttle to Caesars and Wynn every 15 mins, but with crazy traffic and loads of tourists, we most of the times had to wait half an hour for a shuttle. Sometimes longer, if there were bigger queues. When you're on a holiday its pointless to wait, right?! The strip is mostly in and around Caesars! At the end of the 3 night stay, I was rueing not having booked one of those hotels around there!

Also we were celebrating a very special occasion! And out of my 20 day US holiday traversing LA, Vegas and SF, The Trump was the only hotel that did not acknowledge the occasion with a bouquet or a complimentary bottle of champagne that the other hotels very wonderfully wished us with. They really went out of their way to make us feel very special. The Trump is all just a little impersonal and business like!

The Trump would probably be a great place for couples with children or people who want to be far away from the magic of Vegas! But we were a young couple and we definitely wanted to be closer to all the action and walk around without worrying about the last shuttle back!

Trump is very nice; room was very well kept during our five day stay. We enjoyed a corner suite with great views. Hotel location was not the best for us; we enjoy walking on the strip, but it was a couple of blocks off. Service was good, food was adequate - not what I expected for the high price.

Beautiful, clean hotel just back from the strip. Nice to stay in a hotel without a casino for a change. Great room service, nice fresh air flowing through the rooms, great swimming pool and spa!
As expected TRUMP knows how to make a hotel exceptional
