“Nice stay, expected more luxurious”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We had a pleasant stay at Trump Las Vegas, but honestly expected more. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The view was GREAT at night with the lights off, but during the day it was hard to see past your reflection.

The staff was friendly but not Trump worthy. The staff in Chicago is much more sophisticated and on the ball. For instance, the first day we had large "bath sheets," but the following days just regular towels. Also, we requested more hangers, but they only had pants hangers, they were "out" of regular shirt hangers. OUT??? Have you ever heard anything so CRAZY???

I don't know what system they use to heat & cool their water, but it definitely needs to be adjusted. Showering was an adventure. The water starts off warm... halfway through the shower it heats up and then you're not able to cool it down. Except my fifth and last morning, that morning the water went from warm to cool. :-(

The sectional sofa was not very comfortable.

We did take the free shuttle (van) to Wynn several times and once to Caesars. This was nice as we typically returned to the hotel after 9pm when the mall closed and we didn't want to walk up the quiet couple blocks from Las Vegas Blvd.

The valet was pretty quick and I do enjoy the ease of staying at a hotel which does not have a casino attached to it!

After staying last year at Planet Hollywood in the middle of the Strip, this year we chose Trump mostly because we had a One Bedroom City View room complete with Granite kitchen and cooking facilities. This room WAS AMAZING AND HUGE. My husband and I travelled with our 14yr old son. We had a separate king bedroom and the biggest marble bathroom, complete with spa. Our son had a sofa lounge which was equivalent to a bed in comfort and size. The mattress was almost as thick as ours - in his words - it was divine. He also had his own bathroom. We arrived Christmas day and stayed for 4 nights - this hotel was cheaper than all the other classy and well known hotels on the strip. Trump is opposite the Fashion Show Mall - this is one of the biggest shopping centres in Vegas so don' be worried that Trump is too far away. They provide a free shuttle bus to either the Wynne or Caesars palace virtually on demand and they pick you up from these hotels and drop you back. It was so much quieter than staying at Planet Hollywood where the noise carried all night. There is a train line close to Trump but it didn't bother us. Our only negative was Jo at the Bell Desk - lighten up mate!! Relax and don't be so robotic - he truly was unhelpful and didn't really care about us at all. Other than that, everyone else was great and very helpful. We would stay again - it's safe, shops are close by including loads of restaurants. We only found the day we left, a tiny restaurant on the top floor of Nordstroms in Fashion Show Mall. The food is sensational and very reasonable - great for families. BE CAREFUL ON LATE CHECKOUT - they stopped access to our room at 3pm even though we asked for 4pm. It was very difficult to get our room opened and get our bags because the girl on the checkout desk couldn't care!!!!

We loved the fact that this is a smoke free hotel and that there is no casino. It is just steps away from the Fashion Show Mall.
The rooms are very nice- big with a little kitchenette. Granite counters, cooktop, fridge, sink, etc. We really didn't use it however we used the refrigerator for some fresh fruit that someone had sent up to us at the hotel. The bathroom is very big... It even has a TV in the mirror. Kind of cool.
My only (negative) is the street noise, which I so did not expect! We were on the 43rd floor. The sound of the trains was so LOUD. This was so surprising as you would not think being that high up you would hear street noise. It actually woke us up every night. Our room was on the north side of the building with views of the Stratosphere. Maybe the rooms that face South would be better? I don't know, it's the same glass used in all the windows and the trains run north to south. I guess I would request a room more closer to the east side, as the trains are on the west side next time.

We wanted to book a hotel in Vegas that didn't have a casino on the ground floor - simply so we could get back in as we were staying at New Year's Eve! This matched what we wanted and surprised us pleasantly... It's a bit gold / glitzy but not as much as we feared for a Trump! It was refined, elegant and a welcome break from the craziness of the strip. We didn't eat or drink here so I can't comment on that but I will highly recommend the rooftop pool as well as the treatment rooms / spa.

Stayed here over the New Year period. As you can imagine Vegas was very busy and the hotel was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle. it's closer to the strip than you'd imagine- takes about 8 minutes to walk to the Wynn. Or you can cut through Fashion Show Mall (and leave with less money in your purse!). Having been to Vegas over 10 times, I would definately return to Trump. The rooms are spacious (a little noisy though...yes trains and sirens...not sure if they're sound proofed?) and the bathroom is marble, large with a huge jet tub! Very good value for money and a great lobby bar- ideal for a drink before you hit the strip!

Room Tip: strip facing and as far away fro the train line as possible!

Trump International offers a great alternative to the smoke filled casino hotels that line Las Vegas Blvd. I'm happy that you had a relaxing time with us and noticed all of the many differences.

The Trump Hotel is the best around for the price. Rooms are quite, lobby is quiet (no casino). Its only a short walk off the strip, but you can cut through the shopping centre just across from the Hotel and walk in Air-Conditioned comfort to the strip (only a few minutes away). The rooms are very large and bathrooms are very nicely appointed. Its 5 Star luxury at a great price. The restaurant also serves delicious food!

Room Tip: The Higher the better! Very quiet apart from the occasional train.

From the minute the Limo pulled up outside of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, I felt like I was a princess.

My boyfriend and myself took our first trip to Las Vegas in September 2012, and had booked the Trump for a great deal on hotwire. (Under 100 a night). Before travelling I had read tons of reviews about how the hotel was "so far" away from the strip etc etc. We are a couple with a ton of energy and we are not picky whatsoever.

Check in was quick and we were into our room within minutes. We did not upgrade and were happy with our basic room, which to us was so more more then we could expect. I loved that the rooms were separated from the hallway by two doors, we never heard any hallway traffic or noise at all.

We had a room on the 20th something floor with a view of the Encore and Wynn, and not once did we hear this train that everyone speaks of. The room was clean and the best was so very comfy. We took advantage of the jacuzzi tub and I loved the TV in the bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable.

We personally did not find the hotel to be out of the way at all. Being no more then a 5 minute walk to the Wynn. We also took advantage of the free shuttle down to Caesars on more then one occasion. The shuttle never took more then 5 minutes to show up and the drivers were always very friendly. We would take the shuttle down and spend our time on the strip, then walk back up to the hotel, with no problems, even at night.

My boyfriend liked to point out that we always saw somebody cleaning, those gold doors were very shiny! The door guys and the bell men were very nice, always there to say good morning, ask us how our day was or open a door. The hotel also had lemon water always available in the lobby which was perfect for a quick drink before heading out into the heat.

The pool was nothing special but it was great to lay outside for an hour and enjoy the heat and cool off in the pool. Didn't order any drinks or anything so I cannot comment on that.

One morning we decided to eat breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. We had a short 5 minute wait for a table, and I had an omelette and the boy had an eggs Benedict. We thought both our meals were fantastic, and although around 15 bucks an entree, we enjoyed the fact that it wasn't an overpowering amount off food and we felt the quality was worth what we paid.

We only used the valet parking on one of the days of our trip, we had rented a corvette and went back to the hotel twice during the day to change. Both times they just moved the car to the other side of the driveway so it was never far when we returned to get it. They even put the top up and down for us.

Overall we were very happy with our choice for our first trip to Vegas, and as non smokers, we thought it was fantastic to come back to a quiet clean hotel after a day in smokey casinos on the strip! we will be back!
