I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Incline Village on a weekday on Business. It looks beautiful from the outside (as does all of this world-class resort area) and is just as elegant inside the lobby and other common areas. This expensive hotel had one desk person on shift and seemed lightly staffed.

There were a few hidden charges on the bill, but if your forking out the kind of money it takes to stay here, you probably don't care about that.

The room was simple although tasteful. Bathroom is all marble with Kohler plumbing appliances, the bed was King sized and comfortable with a duck-down comforter. The TV was a bit small and the TV niche seemed plain, but I split hairs. The exercise room was average and the free breakfast in the Club Room was okay. I found that there were just enough towels for me...good thing I was alone, or I would have had to request more.

The hidden gem of this hotel isn't the hotel itself, but the restaurant across the street on the Lake called Iron Eagel Grill. Easily one of the best valued meals I have ever had - 4 star service, excellent food, and VERY reasonable prices all things considered.

My wife and I planned a short get away to tahoe and decided on the Hyatt. It seemed to be away from the noise and traffic of South Lake Tahoe. It was our first time there, so we didn't know what to expect. I booked a room in the cottages, which is seperate from the hotel. The room was HUGE! There was a living room with fireplace and a seperate bedroom with a bathroom. The rooms have a balcony that kind of looks out to the lake through the trees. The hotel recently went through a renovation, but I think they missed the cottages. The rooms were very dated and not upscale for the price. You are basically paying for the space and peace and quite, at a premium. We walked aroung the hotel and the rooms in the hotel are very nicely decorated and well worth the money, but not the cottages. I think they are more suited to families going on a ski trip or summer retreat to the lake. They are not upscale in any manner. The location couldn't be better and the amenities are very good. If we were to stay there again we would definitely stay in the hotel. By the way, the restaurant Lone Eagle Grill was very good.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency in early Novemeber for my 7 yr anniversary. I was more than impressed with the service, rooms, ammenities and the overall experience. We actually got a great rate through priceline and stayed in a regular king room. I know there are fancier rooms here, like the lakeside cottages and premier rooms, but our room was still top notch. It was VERY spacious, beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The casino is great...dealers are all very nice and we were able to earn enough comps for a couple of free meals. We are by no means high rollers, but the players cards are a definite must! It's a low key casino, tucked away, not loud and smokey like most. The valets, bellboys and front desk were all very nice. They have a great pool and jacuzzis....you can enter the pool from the inside of the hotel which was cool for when it is cold out.

The only bad thing was, on the night of our anniversary, the concierge recommended the hotel's restaurant, Lone Eagle Grill. We informed them it was our anniversary and got a nice table by the fireplace. However, our waiter was so slow and the food was terrible. I ordered the surf and turf and got what seemed to be a frozen lobster tail with no taste and a filet that tasted gamey. How can you mess up filet mignon? The lobster mashed potatoes were hardened and had a crust on the outside, it seemed old, unfresh and not tasty at all. It took 40 mins between finishing dinner and finally leaving b/c the service was so slow. We spent $210 for two entrees, 3 glasses of wine and an appetizer, and I would've felt more satisfied with a big mac! I actually was more satisfied by the all you can eat lobster buffet at the Boomtown casino in Reno. It was the best $19.99 deal i ever had. I am still fantasizing about that meal! I wouldn't suggest it for a meal, it is a rip off and the food is not even decent. That dinner turned me off but I would go there for the drinks. The bar is nice and you couldn't ask for a better view. It is right on the beach...the fire pit is great. The Sierra Cafe on the other hand, has an AWESOME breakfast buffet. We had some of the best Baked goods there (muffins, homemade zuccini and banana breads)- they were the best!!

OVERALL, the Hyatt-less the Lone Eagle Grill was a GREAT place to stay in Tahoe. I would definitely stay again.

The resort is beautiful but the service is lacking. Many promises to contact me about changing my room to accomodate my original reservation, but they never bothered to follow up.

Travel Arrangements thru AmericaWest Vacations.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a terrific last fling of the summer at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort. This hotel was wonderful, clean rooms and common areas, a very friendly staff and possibly the most laid back casino ever. We arranged a Regency Level rm on 12 with breath taking views overlooking the NE section of the lake. Regency level gets you some nice perks, An above average continental breakfast 6am - 9am (huge variety) of pastries, muffins, cereals and hot and cold beverages. The evenings also offers pre-dinner hot and cold appitizers which was another huge spread of tasty treats. The hotel itself was a very neat rustic style lodge with an older brick tower (12 stories) section and newly built Spa (3 story) wing which overlooks the pool and gardens. The interior was full of nice areas for conversing or spending some quiet time, they have multible firepalces going all day long to go along with all day/night casino action.
2 onsite resturants and also a detached resturant a few minutes walk towards the lake called "Lone Eagle Grill" which is where you need to go for outstanding views of the lake. It has a superb bar with both inside and outside service. We dinned at the "Lone Eagle" the first night it was just ok, but the view and wine list more than made up for the fare.
The surrounding areas is unbelievable especially Lake Shore Dr. You could actually hurt your neck from cranning to look at all the beautiful estates that align the shore. We played three rounds of golf (Mountian & Championship) courses are in excellent condition and the twi-light fees are very reasonable about 1/2 the price of the regular rate. We also indulged ourselves in the Spa messages 80 minutes of heaven. (far from cheap)! but what's a vacations for?? Also rented a 22 foot inboard motorboat for a two hour jaunt on the lake from the Hyatts private dock, you will truely come to appreciate mother nature upon this big beautiful lake. Everywhere you on go the north shore people are super friendly. Places to enjoy cocktails and views Jakes On the Lake (Tahoe City), Big Blue Grill (Upper Incline Village) at sunset was spectacular and the afore mentioned "Lone Eagle".
A couple more places to eat, at a very reasonable price "Austins" in country club center, a walk across the parking area from the Hyatt and also a fine Japenese resturant in Christmas village. (sushi bar was quite enjoyable).
I cannot describe what a drive around the lake provides it just HAS TO BE DONE. Give yourself 1/2 a day to do this, there just one more spectacular scenic overview after another. We both really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt and Lake Tahoe is a must see. We both give the accomadations a first class rating.
