“Will definately be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Beautiful hotel - an extraordinary place. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. We only stayed one night but it was wonderful. Good Pool-garden and the magical Lakeside Lodge offered one of the best steaks we have ever had, in a really cozy atmosphere. The Lake itself is like nothing else. This is defnately a place we are coming back to as soon as possible.

O.K. , the setting itself is other worldly! And then you walk into an elegant, rustic lobby. They offer you complimentary champagne, and you find your way to your room which is in the middle of a Ponderosa pine forest with decor that mirrors the beauty of nature. Some rooms provide views of the lake, but we didn't have that and honestly didn't feel remiss because the minute you walk out the door, the lake is yours!!!
There are so many extras. There are several swimming pools and some opened year round. There is a sand box play ground for tots and a bocce ball court.hot tubs a impeccable and spacious. If it is possible to say that a casino is understated, this one is. The casino is so clean, new, and tasteful.... Jackpot! And yes, the gym is Hyatt great.
After having been to Lake Tahoe many times, we have found OUR dream place ! It is for real though and we sure want to be lucky enough to stay here again.

Room Tip: If you have a few children in toe, you might ask for one of the spacios suites on the forth floor. Y...

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms were very cozy and we had a nice view of the mountains and trail. The Lake is beautiful and crystal clear!!! Awesome resort and would love to stay again. The casino does really reek of smoke though. Only complaint if you are non smoker.

Stayed here twice this year. What a fantastic place. The cottages by the lakeside are fantastic. Out of season this place is quiet and perfect to relax.

Cutthroat saloon is excellent. Best ribs, ever!

Beachside bar is great and jet ski hire essential.

A perfect location and top hotel.

We were very impressed with the staff. The hotel has been recently upgraded and it is designed beautifully. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I had an ozone machine in my room. I turned it off one night and I could smell the fumes from the kitchen exhaust fans.

I am a foodie and I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality in the dinner and breakfast buffet. High quality food. The valet offers you bottled water when you leave and when you check in they offer you champagne. Very generous in this economy!!

The massage I had was amazing. When I checked out they automatically added a 20% tip to my bill and that was off putting. I usually leave 20% but I wish they would have mentioned this beforehand.

Room Tip: Make sure your room doesn't get the smoke and fumes from the kitchen exhaust fans.

The Hyatt is a very nice hotel in a lovely location and we have always enjoyed our stay there. This year they are in the middle of an extensive remodel and it shows. We had trouble with our bed, our shower and our room key. The staff is lovely. Given the situation the management should give their customers a break from their unreasonably high prices.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The glass of champagne when we checked in was a nice touch. The room we were allocated had a connecting door with very loud neighbours on the other side of it. Ŵe were quickly offered another room in a quieter location. The concierge staff were very helpful when we asked about hikes and bike hire in the area. We hiked part of the flume trail which was a long walk uphill but gave fabulous views of he lake. We had a refreshing swim in the lake from the very nice private beach, then were able to warm up again in he pa.
The food in the Cutthroat Inn was very nice and we treated ourselves on our last evening to dinner at the Lone Eagle Grill. It was quite expensive but the food was lovely and the settling on the Lakeshore as the un went down was spectacular.
We stayed for 3 nights on our trip and it was a wrench to tear ourselves away from this wonderful hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A spectacular setting on Lake Tahoe’s north shore with 500 feet of private, lakefront beach. Surrounded by towering pines and mountain greenery; 35 miles to Reno/Tahoe Int’l Airport; 40 miles to South Lake Tahoe Airport. Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino was recreated in the classic style of a 1920s alpine grand lodge. Exterior renovations of river rock and shingles complement the natural environment with colors echoing the tradition and sense of history of the original homes built in the Tahoe area. Extensive river rock landscaping and two outdoor fireplaces add to the guests' sense of arrival at the "Old Tahoe-Lodge" style entrance. The resort's Grand Lobby boasts crafted stonework, creating a cozy setting amid the warmth of an oversized double-sided fireplace, rich leather chairs and high-beam ceilings. The 421 guestrooms, including 24 lakeside cottages, have been decorated with natural pine, distressed wood, and leather furnishings, reflecting the setting with autumn colors of moss, brick red and wheat. Included in our Lake Tahoe resort's $60 million transformation was the addition of the Spa Terrace, a new three-story wing adjacent to the main 12-story hotel. Offering 138 luxury guestrooms with views of the Sierra Nevada skyline, the addition provides visitors with private balconies and breathtaking lake views. The Spa Terrace replaces the resort's former Aspen Terrace and overlooks the resort's new swimming pools. ... more   less
