“Best Tahoe Restaurant on the Lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

To my knowledge this is the only restaurant right on the lake with a beach you can walk on. It is beautifully decorated with an incredible view looking south on beautiful Lake Tahoe. The menu is extensive. We ordered the crispy calamari (huge portion) and the salmon. The service was helpful in every way and the quality of the good was good and served hot on a hot plate. The desserts were also good. In the summer you can sit outside but reserve early as it is often full in the summer. You can also have a drink before lunch on their pier. In the evening the bar is a great place with music plus view and a fireplace when it's cold

“Wish they would make more mistakes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Every one makes mistakes but the way they apologize for it takes service to a level we've never experienced before. My wife ordered a 10-oz filet with sautéed corn & I had wild halibut. The filet was a bit rare so they sent it back to cook to medium. While she was waiting they gave her a puréed potato soup ($10) which sparked words of praise. The filet came back medium as desired. I finished a very good halibut, took my pills with water then started on my lemonade which turned out to be iced tea. These were minor mistakes & I told the waitress we enjoyed dinner anyway. Well the manager surprised us by offering us complimentary desserts. We had the Summer Berries ($8) & enjoyed the Baked Tahoe ($22) so much that we were forced to finish it. We later learned the desserts were for the late seating which we were willing to give them a pass on due to their very busy group schedule on a Sat night. Looking back it's a good thing they didn't want to apologize for anything else because we were well done.

“Best service, best service, and did I mention...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

BEST SERVICE! We ate at the Lone Eagle Grille in celebration of 30th wedding anniversary. Aside from the food being entirely delectable, the service (at least six people who waited on us) was absolutely amazing. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. The view of Lake Tahoe sitting outside, and the general ambience, was perfect for celebrating our special occasion. I recommend the fettuccini and risotto, along with a creaser salad and grilled asparagus, although we heard that the halibut is exemplary. To top off the evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary chocolate dessert that require a three mile hike the next day to work off the calories. Worth every penny, just for the service alone!

“Lost a star for high prices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This average experience is highlighted by the view of the lake. That's about it folks. The food is only ordinary and the prices are pumped up to stratospheric levels because most entrees are without any sides (vegetable or starch). Entree prices are a minimum of $36 (chicken breast) to from $40 to almost $60 for lamb, pork or beef entrees. Add $8 for a side. Wine prices are also high. A very ordinary Malbec that would be $7 or $8 a pour at most places was $12 here. Our group will not return (this was our second time, having been there last summer as well.

“Tasty Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We visited the Hyatt for 4th of July weekend. It was a very busy weekend. We could only get into the Lone Eagle for lunch. We were able to sit outside which has a fantastic view of the lake. The staff was very attentive and the food was really good, if not a little too pricey for lunch.
