“What a fabulous find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We came from Northern Nevada and fortunately had our bicycles. What a beautiful well maintained trail. We entered from Equestrian Park and loved the ride toward Boulder City and views of Lake Mead. It was one of the best bike rides I have done this year. Everyone on trail was friendly and were happy to give us advice. Very smooth surface and loved the mile markers. I hope to come back some day and ride more. It can be done in sections or a 34 mile loop. Wonderful views. Bring your own water, but there are places to get some.

“Great - just be prepared”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

It is difficult to find information about this trail if you are not local since the website hasn't been updated for a few years. Call local bike shops or stop at one prior to riding. 34 miles total. This is a WONDERFUL bike ride with great views of the desert and Lake Mead. Excellent, fairly new, wide surface. Perfect for road bikes. Not much traffic. The map makes it looks like nice long sections. Wrong! It has lots of switchbacks and curves. Approx elevation gain over the course of the path - 3000 feet due to many hills. I don't think there is a flat section on the course. Prior to riding, go to the website for Boulder City and download the bike trail map for their town if you think you might want to stop there for something to eat. There is no signage along the trail for food. The Railroad casino is right on the trail, so you won't miss that for food. Can be windy, and of course hot, depending on the time of year. Only a few spots for shade and only a few benches around Boulder City. Water, bathrooms - need to go off the trail to refill water bottles except for a couple places, one of them a campground at Lake Mead. Parking and trail access - check with locals, not well marked. In general, great bike ride.

“Worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

I rode a roadbike around the whole trail. It is worth the experience.. there were very few people there the midweek day I did the trail last March. Sometimes you feel you are in the middle of nowhere, sometimes you are next to a municipal water pumping plant., sometimes you are riding next to a busy highway. There are some nice views of Lake Mead.
The trail near the highway could be a little better marked in the urban area where it intersects with other roads and sidewalks. I got lost for a bit.
It is paved the entire length.

Tip - just ensure you bring enough water.. more than you need in fact! I rode on a 70F day and didn't have enough even though I had two large water bottles on my bike. I am not used to such low humidity.
