I booked a room as a surprise for my wife as a wedding anniversary. What a disappointment! The room seemed more like country style, and although it was new, there was dust everywhere! Even worse, our room overlooked the parking lot! Service was way below my expectations. The grounds were very nice, but even at 8PM, there was only one restaurant open for dinner - which was overpriced. Most shops and other restaurants were closed! There was no entertainment, no european ambiance, no music. We were sooooo disappointed, we checked out and stayed at the JW Marriott - now that's Luxury!

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at The Lake Las Vegas Resort - Viera. We had a two bedroom condo with a kitchen, the pool was very nice. Overall we liked the condo style room due to the kitchen.

The kids went skating at the ice rink in the Village while we ate at the Italian Restaurant. Food was great, ice skating and holiday theme of the Village was a nice touch. Shops were quaint and it was a fun getaway weekend.

Was very disappointed when we saw our room. We expected a more grand hotel from the price we paid per room, their website, and the four star rating given by a popular online travel site. The rooms were of a low three star quality at best, with the same decorations and furniture one would find at a cheap motel/hotel chain. Nowhere did we find the "luxury" we expected. There were no bell men and even the front check-in area reminded us of a Howard Johnson. The shops in the village nearby were only half occupied. The lake view is nice. The area is new and there is development still going on. Perhaps in a year or two the "resort" will be better, but we will not return.

I have lived in Vegas for a few years now, and love to just get away. My husband and I normally stay at Mt. Charleston. That weekday was all booked up at Mt. Charleston, and we really wanted to get away and have some fun. So my husband decided to look on the internet. He ended up coming across the MonteLago Village. When he showed me the pictures on the website, I just knew he picked a good one. It reminds me of a little Italy. All the little shops and near the water. When we got there the staff was very friendly. Got us checked in quickly. When we got upstairs and saw our two bedroom suite, we were amazed. Had two bedrooms, a living room, two bathrooms, a kitchenette that had all silverware, a large fridge. Absolutly gorgous! After getting settled in we took our daughter to go swim in the pool... WOW! There was two very large pools and then the hot tub that had a waterfall. Not only a romantic and quite place, but there were a few kids that were having a great time. We ended up eating dinner at Como's resterant and lounge. The dinner was fantastic although the price was a little high. Considering the atmosphere it was well worth it. Comos even had two people singing and playing the piano, quite well I might add. Had a couple of drinks at the casino and went to bed. The next day, we all went downstairs to check out the rest of the village. We ran across a few really nice stores. One of them being the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I can not say enough good things about this little store. The service was like going into a chocolte factory when I was little. A kid in the candy store! This Chocolate Factory has the absolute best candy apples. They have all different kinds, my husbands favorite was the Apple Pie (I believe), I got the candy apple with the pecans and a "BEAR" which is an oversized candy Turtle. Great stuff. We love this place so much and plan to go at least once every 2 months! A little advise is to ask the front dest for the guest bonus book. Who knows, you might save more money than you spend. Have fun!!!~

I've just returned from Viera Montelago Village Resort, and I find it to be a little piece of heaven on earth. My new bride wanted to spend some time near the mountains on our honeymoon, so after some research, I booked at Viera. We are both happy that I made that choice.

The grounds are stunning. We had a one bedroom suite with a view of the lake. The room was clean, airy and spacious, with 25" cable televisions in livingroom and bedroom. The bath was immaculate, and the balcony looking out on the lake was a beautiful place for coffee at sunrise. Two outdoor pools and a jacuzzi are available 24 hours a day, and are kept very clean.

The staff was friendly and attentive, Casino Montelago is just steps away, and both Tenuta's and Como's Restaurants had delicious food. Oh, don't miss the Gelati place down by the Lake!! Can't wait to get back to Viera.
