Stayed here with a group of friends. The hotel was beautiful and the service was GREAT!! The beds were super-comfy, too. The resort is HUGE and I didn't get a chance to explore all of it, but there are wonderful restaurants and the pool area was beautiful as well. We ate at the buffet several times and that was very good and the Sushi place was excellent. It is a bit out of the way so if you want to spend a lot of time on the strip or off the resort you might want to consider that.

This was our second stay at GVR and we'll come back again. Staying on the Strip can be chaotic so we like the more casual atmosphere at GVR. The hotel is not new but still in good condition and comfortable. We like that there is a casino on site but it's not in the hotel lobby. There are reasonable options on site or within walking distance for food, shopping and movies. There is a resort fee so be sure to take advantage of the included amenties. We discovered the fitness center and were very impressed with the equipment, private pool area, exceptional staff and locker room designs. We were very pleased with our stay and have nothing negative to report.

We were in Henderson for a baseball tournament. We had 6 teams(about 60 rooms booked) from our baseball club staying at the hotel. Of course the players wanted to swim after playing baseball all day. On Thursday and Friday, we were told the pool was closed at 6 even though it was 78 degrees out. On Saturday, the players went down at 3:30 only to be told the pool was closed because they had a wedding going on. I have stayed at many of hotels in Hawaii where with weddings going on and I have never seen an establishment shut down a main part of the hotel and grounds like this. They told us that I am sure we were told in advance on the restrictions of the pool. WE WERE NOT. A regular outdoor wedding is usually short, but the real reason for the long closure was that the wedding was being filmed for a cable tv show. I guess Green Valley Ranch was more interested in getting some publicity for their hotel vs serving the guests that were at the hotel.

Later that night some of players aged 14 to 16 tried to use the hot tub only to be told they needed an adult.....even though the established pool rules say under 14 needs adult supervision.

Green Valley was not upfront with our group. The hotel is very nice, but it would have been nice to be able to use it!

There were many issues with Customer Service at Green Valley. First, when we arrived (beore check-in) we specified that our colleagues needed 2 beds. The front desk staff promised they would have it. Later that evening, I checked them in assuming they already had a 2 bed room. However, when I took their bags I found it was one bed. I had to trudge back to the front desk to find their were no 2 bed rooms available as they were full and my only choices were to wait for one to be cleaned. Why would their be a non-clean room when they are completely full??? We waited (until after 10 pm) and finally got their room.
Second, after a long day of work, we arrived at our room to find a shower that only dribbled. It was very late, so we opted not to call maintenance as we were exhausted. Needless to say we took another dribbly shower in the morning. In their defense, once we reported the issue, they quickly fixed it.
Third, and most heinous, the night before departure, we went to the concierge to get our Airline boarding passes printed. We asked about the "free" shuttle to the airport and if there was anything specific we needed to know. We were told just be out front at a certain time. I inquired for the exact location and what the shuttle would look like (just to be sure we knew everything). The next morning we arrived at the location 30 minutes before the shuttle and were told we needed to got to Bell Services to get passes What? We were never told we needed passes from either the front desk or Concierge. Of course, the front desk said it was printed on the myriad of paper they gave you at check in (you know...the fine print). It was first come first serve, and 30 minutes prior to the shuttle, there were no more seats. There were at least 4 other groups of people having the same issue and needing to get to the airport. The hotel said our only choice was to take a $30 taxi.
I asked to speak to a manager and she was only interested in finding out the specific people who didn't tell us about the passes (presumably to re-train and reprimand). She had no interest in helping us get to the airport. A hotel of this size/calibre surely has other vehicles/drivers on property, but that was apparently not their concern. One of the front desk people even asked Bell Services if they could get another vehicle since there were so many people and she was told no.
End result is I would not recommend this hotel. I am sure this would all be different if you were a VIP, but if you're not, be fore-warned.

Unsure about being on the strip, the conference I attended booked a block of rooms at GVR...I will never book another hotel on the strip again. This gem has the most outstanding spa/fitness area. It is a quaint resort and the food is very very affordable. They have very good follow up service, with respect to contacting you after your stay..downside is the internet connection...blows big time!! Everything else is top shelf!!

My family and I accompanied my husband on a business trip at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa. The hotel was a great way to experience Las Vegas with a family, it was 15-20 minutes drive from the Strip, surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants. There were several super perks: 1. The courtyard and garden area is very nice and the pool is fantastic for kids; complete with a sand bar and wading pool. The hotel even provides shovels and buckets and lounging rafts. My kids played for hours. There is a separate "over 21" pool area for adult guests who want to enjoy a swim and cocktail without dealing with kids. Secondly, the casino is on the 2nd Floor so we could get to our room and walk through the hotel without walking through a smoky game room. Also, the hotel air was very clean, not at all smoky. Downers, were skimpy but pricy drinks and our hotel view was of the parking lot.
