“A great wedding weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2011

We did not have the wedding at Green Valley Ranch, but everyone stayed there. Friday, we had a cabana by the pool. It was like we had are very own pool. Cousins and friends reunited and we pre-celebrated there. Fun time had by all. The consierge was fabulous and very very helpful with limos, shuttles and anything else we needed! The valets got our cars quickly and they had great senses of humor. Check in and out was fast and easy! Needed to book an after wedding brunch and both large party and in-room catering people were incredibly helpful! Couldn't have asked for better people who delivered, setup and cleaned up the brunch. Oh and the Lobby bar was a fun place for everyone to continue the party into the wee hours. Our guests agreed that they didn't need the strip for anything, including the gambling and restaurants. This is a great place to block book rooms!!!!

My husband and I have been staying at Green Valley Ranch 2 to3 times a year for the past 8 years. We did our first few visits on the strip, but I kept reading about GVR, and we finally drove out there for an afternoon, met a host, and now I won't stay anywhere else. The rooms are beautifull, and there are great dining options in the resort, and even more across the street at the District. The casino is big enough without being overwhelming. The grounds and the pool area are lovely, and I find it truly restfull and relaxing. We know all the bartenders in the high limit room by name, and they are allways glad to see us. In fact the staff at all the bars and on the floor are great. We are comped players, so they pick us up at the airport and drop us off at the end of our stay. If you need a rental car for a day Enterprise keeps cars in the valet area, just go to the concierge fill out the paperwork, and you are all set. As you can tell, I love GVR, and truly feel like I am coming home everytime we arrive.

We used a Travelzoo promotion for our first stay at this Henderson resort. In the past, we have always stayed at one of the MGM properties (Mandalay Bay, Luxor or Excaliber) on the strip. We have been disappointed with how MGM is running these properties by increasing the cost for food and drink yet cutting back on services. We were very pleased with our stay at the GVR. We enjoyed the dining at the pancake, Italian and steakhouse restaurants. We always found the staff friendly and appreciated that the gambling minimums were reasonable. When we went to the pool, we found lounge chairs at pools edge and the staff there brought us food and beverages without the snooty feeling you get at other resorts. Our only disappointment was the Lounge Bar had advertised entertainment who I guess failed to show up the night we were there. We thought the rooms here were superior than those found at the Mandalay Bay.

Excellent customer service was abound at this resort. The majority seemed genuinely happy to see you and help you. The spa staff was very friendly and we weren't even there for service, only using the facilities. Melanie was especially accommodating. I'm not a big fan of resort fees. They charge $25 per day. This includes the use of the spa facilities and shuttle that goes to airport or the strip. One shuttle trip pays for it though. $34 cab ride from the strip. Remote location is disappointing but also lends itself to the peaceful environment so I guess it's a trade off. The spa has a great private area for couples that includes a pool, hot tub and steam room. Make sure you check out the locker areas. You can hang out there all day. Buffet lines get long but they have a line for hotel guests that speeds right to the front. When using the shuttle, make sure you visit the bell desk first. They will give you a green pass. It's first come, first served.

I highly recommend Green Valley to the frequent Vegas visitor but probably not a good choice for the first time visitor that wants to experience the Strip environment.

Room Tip: Book through their website "hotel packages". I was able to get a better deal than the red...

Best place in Las Vegas to stay if you're not interested in all the Strip activity.

We were greeted politely upon check in until the desk clerk saw that we were a Priceline reservation. It seemed as if his personality changed right before our eyes. He took a tone with us even before we had a chance to ask a question. Ended up they did not have the type of room we reserved. Desk manager came over and took an agressive tone. We were shocked because our only response was we'll take it if that's all you have...No Problem! Told it was last available room in entire hotel so we took it and a roll away was sent up promptly. The room was large and mostly clean but old and worn out. The hotel/resort overall has a worn and dated feel to it. The casino was dark, dirty and depressing. The staff all seemed to be depressed or unhappy. The pool area was set up like a cruise ship with rows and rows of tightly packed chairs..really awful so we passed on the pool. The sushi restaurant was really below average and the service was very inexperieced. The whole place was sad.
