I stayed at this Westin about two weeks ago. I only stayed one night but I really wish I had stayed more. The staff was so nice to me right from the start. I was traveling as a single female headed to do some volunteer work in Utah so my appearance was not the usual Vegas garb. It did not seem to matter at all to the attendants. The guy who checked me in, Elrick, was so kind to me and took so much time to explain things to me. Which is HUGE to me considering my room was a discounted one. The consideration I received was far beyond what I get at other hotels. The hotel was BEAUTIFUL, clean and breakfast in the morning at Rick's cafe was delicious. I highly recommend this place. I am already planning my next trip here. I will never stay at another hotel in Vegas.

This hotel lives up to its brand name. Rooms were spacious, very comfortable bed and linens. Thick, plush towels. Keurig coffee maker with great coffee/tea and real creamer! Complimentary bottled water, small fridge and great air conditioning. Bathroom is a little small but had a great shower head(rainfall) and a removable shower wand. Free internet (via another nearby hotel). Great areas throughout the lobby and outside to relax. Three fire pits out back! The pool is fantastic as well as all the other activities available....kayaks, paddle boards.

Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view!

The Westin at Lake Las Vegas is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful surroundings. The rooms are nice, and I've always thought Westin beds are very comfy. They have two large pools (one seems to be more geared towards adults, and the other to children, as it has a water slide and a little wading pool nearby), a small playground, a putting green, a sportcourt, some nice walking paths, and a private beachfront. About the beach: it's a nice little feature, but it's more of an access point for paddle boarding, kayaking, and peddle boats. It's not really a beach where you'd play all day in the sand like you would at the ocean. Our two kids got bored there pretty quickly. The water is a bit brown/yellow, and the sand gets a little thin at some points to where you see the concrete ramp underneath. They build a fire on the beach every night and you can purchase little s'more packets at the front desk.

Those looking for Las Vegas action should not stay here. It's a haul to get to The Strip, and it's even a long ways away from regular hotels and shopping. You have to drive a bit into Henderson for any gas, groceries, and restaurants. The hotel itself does have a few restaurants, but they are pretty formal and not very budget friendly. If you're staying a few days you probably won't want to rely solely only on the hotel restaurants. The problem is, though, it's a hotel, so the rooms don't have kitchenettes. So either you eat at the hotel, or you drive 15-20 minutes anytime you want to eat elsewhere. There's another resort nearby that is supposed to have restaurants and some simple shopping, but it was vacant when we visited there (it was like a ghost-town, kind of weird...). Also, the golf course around the hotel is abandoned. Not sure what the deal is, but it's just brown grass now.

Overall it is a very pretty hotel and a great place to stay for a night.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view.

We were so impressed during our first visit that we returned again 2 months later. The facility, although a 25 to 30 minute drive from downtown Las Vegas, is very easy to get to. We enjoyed the comfort and spaciousness of this beautiful hotel and spa and being away from the downtown core attracted us also. The room was large and beautifully appointed in the Moroccan style.

There is a additional $20 resort fee that is over and above the room rate that was a surprise. I believe it is a current fee other spa/resorts charge also.

Coming from a colder climate, we appreciated the sun and warmth of spring and fall. Summer would be too hot. There is no casino on the property however they provide a shuttle to one that is nearby. Other casinos are available in Henderson, a 10 minute drive away.

We rented a car and would suggest the same for the ease of exploring the surrounding areas.

Room Tip: A lake view is likely the most appealing. There are palm trees are outside the balcony door

Here I am again at The Westin at Lake Las Vegas. I really love this hotel and not sure why we don't come out for weekend staycations. This time I decided to write my review from a more critical point of view. You know look for the issues that may bother others, but that I could just let slide. Well as you can see above I still rated it a 5.

We stayed in room with a single king on the 6th floor. The room is a bit small, with no view....no really just the flat roof top and some palm trees. So that is a bummer, but it isn't unpleasant. The roof top is amazingly clean.

The room is starting to age a bit. The black out curtains need to be replaced. At least one panel does. The room is very clean. Except the wall by the coffee pot and wall by the table. They should lightly wipe this area down as people are eating and preparing food or coffees and it gets a little yucky. Of course the guest could be a little more careful. It really is a shame to have to bring that up, considering the rest of the room is immaculate. No dust on lamps, the tv, pictures, etc.

The bathroom though very small is well done. Extremely clean - which is so important to me. The shower was heavenly. Good water pressure. Their soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotions are a real treat.

We ordered room service this morning. We ordered two of the Lakeview meals. It is a lot of food. Our food was really good, but the potatoes were not. They had a funny taste and weird texture. Yuck. The bacon was awesome. The room service coffee is fantastic.

With that said I should have rated the property lower. But, what really makes The Westin a 5, is the people that work here. The front desk, the employees you pass in the hall, the person who answers the phone for room service and the person who brought our breakfast this morning. Outstanding customer service. They are extremely pleasant and if you ask a question and they do not know the answer...they will go out of their to find the answer. Well done.

The coffee pot in room is a Keurig. So in room coffee was easy.

My last little thought....they have a flat lot to park and they have valet. They block off the part of the flat lot closest to the hotel for valet. From a customer service stand point that feels wrong to me.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a better view. :)

I meant to do this a long time ago and stil think about it. I took my wife there to get away from the kids for the weekend. Since the Academy awards were going to be on Sunday night I called ahead and asked what movies were on in the room that were up for awards. Aileen the concierge not only checked it out for me but had a DVD player brought in and pick up two movies from Redbox they did not have so we could see them. She also followed through on setting up the room with flowers exactly as I requested.

This is also a great place for families in the summer with the lake and pool, tennis, etc. It is about 30 minutes to the strip but I only need so much of that anyway.

Room Tip: They have many nice rooms, upgrades available when it is slow.

Great hotel with beautiful views. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We wanted to stay away from the strip on this trip to Vegas and let me tell you - this is WAY off the strip. It was the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at. It is roughly 30 minutes to go anywhere around the strip from the hotel. There was never any traffic and the drive was nice. There isn't a ton around the hotel, there a couple restaurants in the hotel and then a little village a mile or so away with shops/restaurants. We did not go to any of these places. The hotel was very clean, had your typical Westin bed, etc. There was a fridge in the room which we loaded with extra water! There is a resort fee at this location which included parking, internet, etc. Everything was nice. The only reasons it got a 4 instead of 5 was the location (not much to do around) the area. There were also a few things missing in the room - there was no brochure for the hotel with eating options/menus, there were no magazines or guides about Vegas in the room and the ice machine on our floor wasn't working :(

Room Tip: Higher floors have a great view! Stay away from the elevators!
