We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite found it to be clean and very nice. Only problem we had was the room was not ready on time had to wait 1 1/2 hours. But we did not have any other problems during our week stay. Kim at the front desk was great and a a joy to talk with. Housekeeping checked with us everyday to see if we needed anything and
they were very nice. The girls used the spa and were very happy with their massage. The food and beverage manager at DW's is top notch he checked if we were being taken care of and we enjoyed talking with him. He stated he was new and wanted to know what we liked and did not like I am sure he will do a great job. The prime rib at DW's is out of this world well worth the money. In all it was a great stay and I would like to purchase a timeshare but was infromed they do not have a sales office at this time.

Hello,
I don't know if my review/complaint here will do any good, I have never complained online about a business before... And I travel a lot. But in this case I need to say something.

At the advice of a co worker who stayed at Wally's Hotsprings resort in Genoa , NV about 3 years ago....I stayed there on June 19th. Checked in at 3pm .
We rented a one bed Suite made with over the phone reservations. Cost us $200 nonrefundable.

I requested a non Smoking room as I have slight allergies but can not stand the smell of cigerettes. ( I am not a Nazi about it, but hey, if I am paying $200 per night at a health resort, I should get get what I want.! )
The guy who took my reservation over the phone said that while It ( non smoking room ) couldn't be guaranteed at reservation time, once we got at the resort, the desk person will certainly give us our request.

Our first impression upon arrival was good. From a distance the buildings looks neat and orderly.

However ,

Once I checked in, the person at the desk snapped at me when I mentioned the no smoking room.
She said... you get what you were assigned by the reservations... All rooms are smoking rooms ...she said!
Disappointed... but tired from a 3 hour drive, I took what I could get.
Went to the room assigned, one the first floor in the Bodie Building. The room was a stinky mess. It smelled like orange baby aspirin and cigarette smoke. There was an ashtray on the table.
Wow I said... all this for $200 per night...
Then I met my friend who had been assigned a room above me. He was s happy about his room... he said there is no smoking with signs through out his floor.

I went down stairs and mentioned to the person at the desk... By now she was really mad at me.
She eventually assigned me another room upstairs 2117. I went up... it was pretty beat up... but at least it was non smoking and it didn't stink.
While it was well stocked with dishes etc...Sadly many of the cabinets didn't even have doors on them.
The worst part about this room was ... the shower didn't have any hot water.... now ...there was plenty comming from faucets in the bath tub... but we could never take a hot shower.
The maint. person did come in and fumble with the hot water heater.... but it never did anything. The water was always cold in the shower.... the 3 of us took cold showers.
The molding around the bath tub was warped unfinished 2x4's . The paint was even pealing off that. Very Ghetto look about it.

As for the Hotsprings them selves... I have never been to a hotspring before.
Asked several employees, couldn't get anyone to even tell me where they were...at first. The map they give you is so outdated and hard to read..... I thought The swimming pool was the hotspring.

Once I met up with my friend again, he showed me where they were..... Well, what is left of them. Most are being dug up. Leaking water everywhere. Big holes in the ground with concrete strewn everywhere.
A timeshare owner who had a wedding there told me that's been that way for 6 months! Half of the hotspring tubs weren't working.

All in all, I would rate my experience a "one" on a scale of one to five. The one is because from the road, the place does look nice.
On closer inspection... Most of the buildings are in disrepair. Missing paint.... especially on the posts and trim on the buildings is common.

The reason why I am writing this to you is.... the place has potential. Hopefully the new owners will clean it up, send staff through freindliness training. I might come back in the future.

My friend kept apologizing to me.... he even offered to give me the $200 I paid for the night to me.

Anyway.... Just be aware... This is No 4 star resort.... I would say more like a 2 stars with a couple of heated mineral pools.... Its about about like a Days inn. Though some Days inn's have freindly staff and less repairs need to be done.

Stayed here with 3 generations of a family that own 2 timeshares here. We had a 2 br/2 ba condo which is really a 1 br suite with a connecting studio (where I stayed). At first, they did not have the requested room type so we had to move the next afternoon which was a bit of a hassle. The corner rooms in Aurora are the nicest with wrap-around balconies, a sauna and a steam jacuzzi bath in the room. Jeff in the spa gave wonderful treatments - I had a sugar scrub, a moisturizing anti-aging wrap and a hot stone massage. Mmmmm. It was in a quaint little stone house. The sulfur smell is unavoidable at natural hot springs so be prepared. Sitting in their little "jacuzzis" with the natural waters seemed to help my shoulder that had been hurting. Free internet access in the lobby was nice. Be sure to bring lots of food with you as you are in a remote location. Wish the restaurant was open 7 nights a week (esp. on a holiday weekend). They have lowered their prices at DW. The prices in the deli are still high. Nice to have a game room for the kids. They do need to redo the tennis courts though.

I own a timeshare at David Walleys and this was my third time going. I love the heated pools, the relaxing mineral hot tubs, steam room, sauna, gym in the second building, the PIZZA, scenery, fireplace in room, jetted bath in master room, and Jeff at the Spa gave the BEST hot stone massage ever!!!! The only thing I agree with is the towel situation. You are expected to keep your room tidy and I guess wash your towels. If you get a two bedroom, it comes with a waher and dryer so bring some Gain to wash the towels. Other than that, It was a relaxing trip for me and five of my friends. Oh yeah, there is a Super Walmart about 17 mins away in Carson that is very clean, people are really nice, and has everything you need 24hrs a day!!!

We stayed at DW's this weekend for the 5th time. As always we had a great stay.

The staff was very nice and our room was ready when we arrived, even though we were a bit early. We stayed in the Bodie building for the first time. It is very similar to the Canyon building. Bodie and Canyon were the second and third building added to the property. You can tell that the Bodie rooms are older and look a little dated in comparison to the new Dillon building. However, even though the rooms were a little dated in this building everything was in good condition. We did have a problem with the hot water the first morning we were there but we called down to the front desk and maintenance was up in less than 5 min to relight the pilot light on the water heater. Other than that little hiccup we had a perfect stay.

Since it has been pretty dry here this year I was able to walk around the entire property for the first time (usually snow is covering all the paths). I was also able to take a lot of pics of the resort that I hope people will find helpful.

I will be heading back in another month for our annual girls weekend and am looking forward to another great stay.
