We stayed at The Exchange club Motel for 2 nights in Feb2008 It was pretty much what it appears from the street to be, an older mom and pop motel. It's a long ways from the Hilton but adequate in every way. It was clean and everything worked. There is a washer and dryer for guests to use. The management seemed friendly enough and helpful in assisting us in finding our way around the area. I would have no problem staying there again, to my knowledge there's no better place to syay in Beatty.

The desk had lost our reservation when we arrived - bit of a shame as we had taken the trouble to ring from the UK - but as it was a summer afternoon they had plenty of room. Pat at the desk gave very careful consideration where to put us once she realised there were children in the party. Ended up on the second floor right in the middle which suited us fine.

Room was dated but there was a fridge, toiletries, two beds and an a/c. It was all very clean.

A/c was very noisy and we had to switch it off in the end and be hot or none of us would have got any sleep.

For the money it was fine.

Beatty was pretty much closed for the summer as obviously only lunatics want to go to Death Valley then. Had an OK meal in Rita's at the Stagecoach but they had no deserts left worth mentioning. Visited the Nut & Candy company instead.

We read reviews of places to stay in Beatty and settled on the Exchange Club. thinking it would be a grade above the cookie cutter type Motel 6 hotels.
What a disappointment for the price.
First they have a AAA sign but they don't do AAA discounts.
The Tour book gave a very generous description on the amenities because there weren't any. Not even coffee in the room. Maybe a tiny bar of soap and a tiny towel is an amenity in Beatty. Sorry I don't mean to be sarcastic but we spent an entire day crossing Death Valley and were on our way to Hoover Dam to see the Nevada desert along the way and it would have been nice to take a hot shower and wrap up in a towel that was of decent size.

Secondly you can hear every sound nearby. The beds were soft and the smell in the room was overpowering . It was probably the cleanser used to cover the smoke in a non smoking room.
We walked down to the casino about a mile away and had a fairly nice dinner but I would not stay at the Exchange Club should we ever go through that area of Nevada again.

When we arrived in Beatty, we found this motel on the corner, where we had a reservation. I reconsidered if this would be the best place in town to stay, but went ahead into the parking lot. it is not the building on the corner, but behind it. After getting into our room, we were very surprised. It was quite large and very clean. It ended up to be a very comfortable place to stay. It has a refrigerator in the room, which was great for our bottles of water. The AC worked well, which is important in the desert. For the great price we paid, (under $50) I really did not expect much, as was quite surprised at how nice it was. It is not ultra modern, by any means, but it a very pleasant, clean motel and we would happily return, especially for the price.
