“Lovely inn with a beautiful view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

A very well appointed inn with interesting Indian and western art everywhere. Nice to sit up on the balcony with a complimentary glass of wine and look out at the bluffs and pass where emigrants traveled. Rooms very comfortable. Nice common area to check email in the early morning. Lovely grounds including the "wine cellar" where one can escape the weather. You can see why weddings are held on the grounds. Delicious breakfast at a communal table including homemade syrup.

This B&B is a former barn that naturally sits in the middle of farm land just a stone's throw from Scottsbluff National Monument. We even had a view of the bluff from our room. Allan & Cher are very nice and can entertain you with stories of the history of the area and the farm. The house is a veritable museum full of Native American artifacts, antiques, and beautiful western artwork including some by Allan himself. He's also quite an adventurer, having canoed and ridden horseback in the footsteps of Lewis & Clark and other explorers.

The room was very nice, quiet, and came with an comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Don't miss the old rebuilt wagons Allan has refurbished and the wine cellar. The gardens and grounds so gorgeous they often have weddings outdoors on the property.

The farm is a few miles out of town, but that only adds to the solitude and peace and quiet. We'll definitely return on our next trip through the area.

The room was bigger than I expected. The room was clean. The hotel is old and dated. Only seen 2 staff members, but it was off season. I've been in better and worse places. Price was OK for what I got.

Room Tip: Get a double bed room as they are bigger.

My husband and I just spent two wonderful evenings at Barn Anew, and it was the best bed and breakfast experience we have ever had. The most beautifully renovated property I have ever seen, with an outside garden I could only dream about. You must see to believe, it is truly quaint and charming.
Many B&B's keep you restrained to your room - this one does not. Beautiful inviting foyer leads to an open space upstairs with sitting room and outdoor veranda to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail. You can watch tv, read (my husband and I played cards) and unwind from the day - and never feel like you are imposing. Beautifully decorated rooms with private baths, absolutely spotless. And decorated with some of the most unique antiques and heirlooms we have ever seen. Could have easily stayed a week.
Our hosts, Cher and Allan, made us feel right at home- extremely knowledgeable about the area, places to go, things to see. Cher made these remarkable breakfasts that would make the Food Network jealous. Highly recommend........... don't waste your $$$ on a hotel.... enjoy Barn Anew and the views of ScottsBluff, the peace and serenity of the area. it was the best!

I stayed at Barn Anew mainly because I couldn't find a hotel room in Scottsbluff. I'm SO GLAD that there were no hotel rooms available because Barn Anew was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, all with a private bath. There is a lovely commons room on the second floor where coffee magically appears in the morning. Also, the view is spectacular - you look out onto the Scottsbluff National Monument.

The hosts, Cher and Allan are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The two days I stayed at Barn Anew, I had oven-baked French toast and a lovely egg casserole. Fresh fruit and orange smoothies were served along with the main dish. Yum!!!

The grounds are very lovely, and Allan will gladly give you a tour and provide you with lots of historical details. Cher also provided me with great tips for top-notch local restaurants.

The next time I need to travel to Scottsbluff, I will be staying at Barn Anew!

We picked Scotts Bluff on the map as a convenient stop from Denver on the way to the Badlands. Barn Anew and the whole experience of Scotts Bluff was a fantastic way to begin our adventure. One could spend days looking at all the wonderful details of Barn Anew. Cher and Allen have an amazing collection of artifacts of Native American history. They both have a wealth of knowledge to share, only wish we had time to hear more. We stayed in the Pony Express Room, decorated in interesting detail that makes me want to explore more of that part of our American heritage. The sheep herders wagons outside were intriguing, lovingly restored by Allen. The grounds are beautiful, the barn itself is an amazing renovation, no detail left undone. We really enjoyed hiking the trails at Scotts Bluff Monument, very close to the B & B, good for a early morning hike and back to Barn Anew for a fantastic breakfast. I'd never been to Nebraska before, loved the wide open countryside and grasslands. Put Barn Anew on your list of stops, you'll love it.
